Subject: 90s Films/TV and the American Government

Written By: Ryan112390 on 01/06/12 at 10:45 pm

The '90s in film seem to have been an era wherein the American government or government agencies play a big role--Usually negative. For example look at the blockbuster movies of the Jack Ryan series, which revolve around actions committed by the CIA; Look at Silence of the Lambs, which focuses on the hunt for a serial killer by FBI trainee Clarice Starling; Look at the X-Files, about the "X Files" division of the FBI and FBI agents Scully and Mulder. Look at movies like Air Force One and Independence Day, where the (fictional) President plays a heroic role. Just thought this was interesting, seems for whatever reason, people were interested in movies about the US government in the early-mid 90s.
