Subject: 90s Halloween-themed forum

Written By: 90s was the gold on 09/13/12 at 12:51 am

This posting may be a bit early but hopefully by late October, there will be a good collection of cool 90s Halloween stuff here. Basically, this is for people to post anything of 90s Halloween theme. You can also post any Halloween experiences from the 90s too.

To start off, here is a true Disney classic, from 1993:

Anyone who watched WCW in the 90s probably remembers:

While not necessarily about Halloween, Meet The Creeper by Rob Zombie is a song from 1998 that I would associate with Halloween, and two of my favourite Goosebumps books ("Attack of the Jack o'Lanterns" and "The Haunted Mask") came out in the 90s.

The video for one of the two Halloween-themed Goosebumps book I mentioned really needs to be here:

Man, I've been obsessed with Halloween ever since I was a toddler! Some of my favorite memories from the 90s are Halloween-related. I think it has something to do with the fact that my birthday is 3 days before, so maybe in my early childhood it created some sort of psychological association of the anticipation of my birthday with the imagery of Halloween decorations? Even today, part of me still gets excited when stores start putting out their Fall and Halloween stuff. It's definitely my favorite time of year, even moreso than Christmas or summer.

LOVE Hocus Pocus btw! Definitely one of my childhood favorite movies, I still watch it at least once every October.

Another movie I make a point of watching every October is the Blair Witch Project. Even though it was released in 1999, they got the grungy 1994 (when the footage takes place) look down pat. A lot of people belittle the movie but I find it pretty creepy...I'm a sucker for the woods and folklore.

This was definitely the quintessential Halloween costume of the 90s. The mask, created by Fun World, has been around since 1992 -- 4 years before the movie Scream came out. Even in the 2010s I always see it sold in stores around Halloween.

McDonald's Halloween pails. I remember having the witch one when I was very young. The tops of them were cookie cutters.

The film Scream was quite creepy.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8AZBZzBXBAg - Unsure if this is definitley 90s, but it is definitley really cool. An hour of halloween awesomeness. Since a part of it sounds like Michael Jackson's Thriller, it shouldn't be any older than 80s is my guess.

Then there's also the annual Halloween Treehouse of Horror series that The Simpsons has.

This picture was taken during Halloween of 1995, when I was four years old, at a school carnival. I went as a pirate that year.

I have older Halloween pictures of me and my cousin dressed as Fred Flinstone and Barney Rubble.

I love watching a Halloween marathon like Jason Vorhees, Michael Myers and Freddy Kreuger.

Its nice when channels still play movie marathons for Halloween though it doesn't happen as much as before.  So I usually watch dvds.  To me it feels like people don't celebrate it as much.  I've been into it the holiday for as long as I can remember just as I've been into Horror movies for as long.
