Achy Breaky Heart was first in the UK Charts in July 1992 and went on to reach number 3.

Weird Al parodied it a year later into "Achy Breaky Song", discussing the narrator's dislike for the original, and mentioning music acts he'd rather hear instead.

I now have it on pretty-good authority that it entered the top-40 on May 2.
It debuted in the top-75 country chart on April 4 at #72, entered the top-40 on May 2 at #28, became #1 for 5 weeks starting May 30, then on August 15 it was #29, then was dropped off the chart entirely the following week (becoming itself the 1st victim of the "Achy Breaky era", I guess?), to spend relative perpetuity in the "Hot Country Recurrents" chart thereafter.

I got all this info from searching through the American Radio History website.
There, one can search through broadcasting-related magazines of the past.

Anyway, I guess that puts the last week of "classic country" at the top-40 country chart of April 25, 1992.
RIP
