Subject: Calling TheEarly90sGuy (and others): Double Denim?

Written By: 90s Guy on 03/20/16 at 2:54 pm

Was Double Denim popular for guys in the 90s? I mean young men? Or was it more of a 70s/80s trend? If it was popular in the 90s, around when in the 90s was it so?

The trend started in the mid '80s and continued steadily throughout the '90s.

It was popular for guys from the early '90s (1990-1992) until the end of the mid '90s (1993-1995).

These photographs are from the mid '90s:

All your denim had to match.

I started school around that time and saw so many shades of mf-ing acid wash it was unreal.
And two of my cousins, twins Jermaine and Dwayne, got a set of matching red black green and yellow denim suits (that whole I'm Black and I'm Proud movement was happening in the early 90s) and they wore them with shirts that actually said that.
I don't know where the Black and Proud shirts came from but ALL of us cousins, about 12 of us, had one!
I had a matching pink denim outfit, and even one of my cabbage patch dolls came in a red acid washed dress.  ;D
