The SNES is probably my second favorite console from Nintendo (first being Nintendo 64). I always thought it had cool games in it. Although, I was more of a Genesis fan, I liked some games.

The Super Nintendo will always hold a special place in my heart. It wasn't the first console I ever played, but it was the first I ever owned. My parents gave it to me as a Christmas present on December 25, 1992. Even after almost 24 years, I can still remember it as if it were yesterday. Being that I was only five, I had to get my dad to hook it up to the television for me. After that, he connected both controllers and we played Super Mario World, then Tecmo Super Bowl, in two-player mode. I still have that very same console hooked up to my TV today, and probably always will.

The thing that really impresses me today about the SNES, in addition to all the great platform, sports and action-adventure games that the console had, is it's impressive library of RPG's. Remember, this is before Final Fantasy VII, during a time when RPG's typically did not sell very well in North America. Despite that fact, take a look at this amazing roster of RPG's released in the U.S. on the SNES:

It's a fun game.  I liked the special scenarios where you had to do things like clean up pollution and then when you beat all of them you got a city that was all land.
