IMO:

1. Pokémon Red/Blue
2. The Legend of Zelda: Orcarina Of Time
3. Super Mario 64
4. Doom
5. Mortal Kombat
6. Sonic The Hedgehog 2
7. Super Mario World
8. Final Fantasy VII
9. Daytona USA
10. Street Fighter II

I really don't consider SMB 3 a '90s game since it was played in a movie before the decade even began, but it would rank in the top ten easily if it qualified. That said, the '90s will always be "my decade" in terms of video games, even if its clearly vintage nowadays (though still very "fresh" compared to the 8-bit era). You didn't have the Internet yet until the very end in terms of influencing gaming, there was a clear goal to accomplish, the cutscenes didn't overwhelm, there was more genre diversity (though that's trying to make a comeback), and the industry wasn't overloaded by the media like its been ever since.

Smw offered nothing lmao  SMB 3 was better (even almost looks like 16 bit)

Pokemon red blue was a game boy game tho it wasn't like the best game of the 90s lmao

SMW offered:

*Multiple and secret exits, which sometimes served as the update to the Warp Zone
*Save feature (yes, Zelda did it first, but it was still pretty novel in 1991 and the first Mario game to contain it)
*New 16-bit music that was superior in quality to NES games
*Being a launch title, the impact of better graphics/speed is immediately prevalent, and with the exception of the "blast processing", better than Sega at the time
*Yoshi
*Star/Secret world
*Ghost houses
*The first game where 100% completion (96 levels) feels a bit more rewarding than simply beating the game

Yes, it didn't really have "bonus levels" like SMB3, but it did contain secret rooms, the 100 star bonus round, 3up moons, and the Switch Palaces with its own special music cue, which were sort of that game's equivalent of bonuses. If it weren't for this (and SMB3), there would be no Donkey Kong Country series.

Pokemon Red/Blue may not have been the most technically innovative, but you can't deny it's cultural impact it brought, to the Anime, merchandise, cards, movies, and much more, and the legacy of games that followed it, including yellow. In its heyday, it was even more popular than Tetris ever was. Pokemon Go was the latest incarnation to cement its legacy. Final Fantasy is more like the Magic: The Gathering of RPG series, its likely more skillful, but it isn't quite as easy to understand to still be fun and isn't quite as popular, of which I considered a factor in compiling my list.

You actually wouldn't be in the wrong for doing so. The games original Japanese release date was in 1988.

I am going to say this once again, no one I knew had a Sega CD, Blockbuster even refused to Carry SEGA CD games to rent.
Bernie Stoler the CEO of Sega right out said in 99 The Sega CD and Saturn & 32X were failures, The Sega CD did not sell as much
as the Sega genesis, or the SNES, or even game boy or game gear.

Sonic CD is overrated as hell and was only hyped because no one got to play it and it was hard to get a copy of it for over a decade.

Just because you or people you knew didn't have a Sega CD doesn't mean that others didn't have one either. As sources say, the add-on was successful. Yeah, Sonic CD may have been the best-selling game on the add-on, but there were a lot more on there as well that one couldn't find on the genesis. Besides, The Sega CD came out a good 2 or 3 years before the 32X and Saturn were a reality. That was enough time for the add-on to have a good market.

A flop if the gen consensus is if it was failure

a Flop if it sells badly

A flop is if its discontinued so soon

Ask anyone else on inthe00s if Sega Cd was a flop

it didn't sell terribly. It just didn't match the same sales as the Sega genesis. I mean you're forgetting it was an add on for the console anyway.
