Which one of these artists would make you reach for the remote immediately if you saw their music videos on Yo!MTV Raps or Dial MTV?

I would choose most of the ones listed. There are a few on the list whom I can actually tolerate, however.

Pretty puke-worthy selection, but I guess Fresh Prince stands out as the worst of the bunch. In general I can't stomach Will Smith's material as a musician 8-P

I actually don't mind listening to him, since his rap music is clean (no swearing). This even applied to his late 90's material, when he was a soloist.

Off course, Milli Vanilli did not have the true singers on their songs.

They lip-synched.

A better question is what's everyone favorite pop rapper since pop rappers (especially from that time period) get a lot of flack and seen as corny in an era when rap was all about being gangsta and hard. My personal least favorite is vanilla ice since he was so in-authentic and gave white or any non-black rapper a hard time to be taken seriously.

Yes, the band were imposters! The actual vocals were provided by session musicians, which the band tried to pass off as their own. ::)

I went for Vanilla Ice. My super close runner up is Milli Vanilli. I didn't know about the whole lip sync deal until around 96 as I was too young to care in the early 90s. That Ice Ice Baby song was on or sung all the time at its height and it was so weird.

Ton Loc was good in the 80s but not so much the 90s!! (That was GOOD hip hop in the 80s)

Snow is not a rap artist.  Informer was a reggae song that contained a Rap verse

^ Similarly, a lot of non-rap artists/bands will occasionally throw in a small amount of rap vocals into a song. (This was true about Blondie's 1981 hit "Rapture", which featured one long rap verse and one that was not-so-long.)

It's absolutely not reggae lol, it's a rap song with pop-reggae rhythms
