...and his record of saves achieved in the American League would eventually be overtaken by other pitchers in the decades that followed. In fact, Quisenberry (who ultimately passed away in 1998) had the most saves in Kansas City Royals team history until Jeff Montgomery overtook him in the 1990s (specifically, in '96).

The tour was sponsored by McDonald's and by Coca Cola. Now 30 years later New Kids On The Block are celebrating the release of Step By Step and now the fans that were teenagers back then are now middle-aged women.

January 27th 1991 - Super Bowl XXV was played at the now-defunct Tampa Stadium in Tampa, Florida. The NFC champion New York Giants narrowly defeated the AFC champion Buffalo Bills, 20-19.
This was during the time of the Gulf War. A memorable performance of the U.S. national anthem, "The Star-Spangled Banner", sung by Whitney Houston preceded the game. Her rendition was critically acclaimed and regarded as one of the best performances of the U.S. national anthem in history; it even hit the charts that year. (A decade later, in the wake of the Nine-Eleven attacks, the recording was re-released and peaked at #6 on the Billboard Hot 100, and got certified Platinum by the RIAA.)
