And why?
Mine is of course 1999 from a childhood standpoint & pop culture standpoint.

Hard one but, probably 1999. 1995 though, is a very close second.

1998 with 1990 an extremely close second.
1998 was just an awesome time. I was 22 and into the clubbing scene - lived for every weekend! I was also still at college, so there was plenty of leisure time to be had.
1990 was special cos I started a new school the year before and I was well into making some great lifelong friends. The music was fresh and everything seemed positive. I also had a great summer holiday with the family.

1991. The first Gulf War ended pretty early on, and while there was a recession lingering until late in the year, I wasn't really old enough to understand at the time. The final fall of communism with the destruction of the Lenin statue in Moscow and formal dissolution of the Soviet Union. The Memphis-style design aesthetic that was big since about 1985 was still around, mixing with then-new Afrocentric designs giving the era a unique feel, in addition to house music being at the peak of its mainstream popularity, the Disney Renaissance now in full swing with Beauty and the Beast along with its Disney Afternoon block stronger than ever with Darkwing Duck, release of the SNES in North America as well as Sonic the Hedgehog, the last gasp of glam metal and the first big year for grunge, the first Nicktoons as well as many other classic Nickelodeon shows including game shows and Nickcoms, ABC's TGIF at its peak, and just far enough away from the 1980s that it could be influenced by the tail end of that decade yet still feel fresh enough to feel 1990s.

Can there be an option for all of them in the poll?
