Subject: Favorite Salt-n-Pepa song?

Written By: GeekyAlgorithm on 10/07/20 at 7:59 am

I used to like "Whatta Man" as a kid because it had En Vogue in it, but now it's "Shoop" because of Deadpool. ;)

Also kinda liked "Gitty Up," it was on MTV when I was a kid in the early 2000s.

They were more of a 90s thing to me.

Well they did have most of their hits then, so, that makes sense.

Those two are the ones I actually like the best. At first they were a guilty pleasure for me.

Let’s Talk About Sex was the first song of theirs I knew. My favorites are probably Push It and Whatta Man. The bass part in Whatta Man was one of the first I learned to play.

Where are Salt-n-Pepa today, are they still performing, to the best they can?

On May 2, 2019, the Mixtape Tour commenced in Cincinnati, Ohio. Performers on this tour include Salt-N-Pepa, Debbie Gibson, Tiffany, and Naughty by Nature, with New Kids on the Block being billed as the headline performers. The next day, DJ Spinderella announced in an Instagram post that she had been "terminated" from Salt-N-Pepa as of January, and broke her silence after the band hadn't made a public announcement regarding their parting of ways. DJ Cocoa Chanelle, formerly of BET Networks and HOT 97, became the replacement DJ.

All of those 3 are the basic songs I knew from them.

Push It is my favourite, but like Phil said, it is 80s, so in keeping with strictly 90s, my vote goes to Start Me Up.  It was a 1992 single taken from the film Stay Tuned

Looking through their hits, this one stood out. Made it to no15 in the UK charts in 1991.
