Subject: German tourists in for a treat

Written By: Philip Eno on 07/29/09 at 3:19 pm

A holiday company is giving German holidaymakers the chance to pre-book their sun loungers.

It's a long-standing tradition that German tourists beat the rush and head to the pool early to secure the best spot.

Now at a cost of three euros (£2.60) a day they will be able to pay in advance for their lounger and beach umbrella.

Thomas Cook says up to nine hotels in Turkey, Egypt and the Canary Islands have joined the programme.

The scheme is currently only open to winter holidays booked in Germany.

A spokesperson for Thomas Cook told the Daily Telegraph: "As part of a promotion to holidaymakers in Germany, pre-bookable sun chairs are being offered as part of an upgrade package following positive feedback to a successful initiative by a small number of hotels."
