A Superman fanatic has had cosmetic surgery to look like his hero.
Herbert Chavez, 35, started having surgery in 1998 to transform into his heroic alter-ego, Superman.
Filipino Chavez has had a chin augmentation to give him Superman's iconic cleft; Rhinoplasty to transform his Asian nose into one similar to actor Christopher Reeves; silicone injections into his lips to make them fuller and thigh implants to make his legs appear more muscular.
He has also had liposuction on his stomach and plans for more surgery on his abdomen to increase his similarity to the Man of Steel.
Chavez explained: "I have been a life-long fan of Superman after being given the costume when I was a child."

In LA there are a bunch of people, most of them homeless or nearly homeless, who dress up as characters and take pictures with tourists to make a buck.... the guy who plays superman takes his role seriously...he's a big superman fan, he collects more memorabilia than I do :o
He was featured in a doc (it was pretty good) called Confessions of a Superhero.
I sat next to him at a Smallville event. He stank to high heaven, was still in his Superman costume and was a bit, um, touched in the head. He seemed incapable of talking about anything but superman....

Just be thankful he didn't go under the knife even more if his favorite super hero was Wonder Woman.
