Subject: Chinese pie-seller gains fame as presidential look-alike

Chinese President Xi Jinping may want the public to know him for his policies, but associations with food seem to have dogged him since he took office in 2012 - now people in the inland Hunan province are queuing up at a meat pie stall run by a Xi look-alike.

Shao Jianhua sells meat pies with dried and pickled vegetables - typical of his native Zhejiang province on the coast - from a small shop near university halls of residence in Changsha city. But customers seem as keen on having their photograph taken with him because of his resemblance to the Communist leader.

The snaps have gone viral in China, according to the daqi.com social media aggregator, but Shao insists the punters come for his pies. "I make 1,600 pies a day during the peak season," says Shao, who moved to Changsha five years ago. Dianping.com, a popular comment-driven Chinese food guide, agrees that diners also rate his pies highly, Hong Kong's South China Morning Post says.

Some social media users have called on President Xi to meet his "twin brother", the paper reports. "Don't forget to point out that the president is the customer, not the vendor," advised one commentator.
