Subject: America Has 200 Posts

I finally got 200 posts on this website. 8)
I know it's not enough yet for 4 stars, but it's a great milestone considering I don't own my own computer yet. :-[

Good news! I just ordered a Compac XL from the Home Shopping Network. It has 1.47 gigs, AMD Athlon processor and CD-RW and DVD capabilities, not to mention a digital camera kit. Now all I need is how to use the dern thing. ;D

That's great, America!  :D  Here's some steps that should help you get everything up and running in no time:

1)  Set up new computer.  It's fairly easy nowadays, as most of the plugs will only fit one way into one socket.  Make sure your web cam is connected and working.

2)  Install a server program on your computer, and post your IP address here.

3)  Connect to internet, and log on here so we know you're around.

4)  Take off your clothes and sit in front of your computer.

5)  Making sure web cam is ON, spend a LOOOOOOOONG time posting messages.

I think that about covers it.  If you need help, I have a number you can call...

Aww, honey, I'd tell you; but I don't want you to get in trouble for racking up long distance bills calling North America!

I'm really just thinking of you here...  :-*

Well, thanks a lot, but I'll be the first to admit that I've done a heck of a lot worse in my life... Calling Australia at peak rate times on a very much nameless and crappy network... on a serious note (I've always been told not to end my message sounding so damn hyper), I wish I could get a better connection so that I could spend more time on here. (I know, it seems that way already, huh?)

Thanks MW. I'll do all of those except for #4. I'll just make everyone sick with the body I currently own. :(

Gee, surprisingly enuff, those instructions are listed in the Help on my comp!

That 900-number looks familiar...

Dude, you should've gotten a Dell… lol… j/k…  I'm perfectly happy with my HP Pavilion I bought from buy.com on clearance.  I had a hard time getting it going but after a while everything turned out OK.  I'm actually posting this on my old IBM Aptiva with a 233 MHz AMD K6 processor.

Just don't confuse it with TX's 1-900- number...  I hear that one's expensive (but worth every penny)  ::)

If those are the instructions listed on your computer too, (and it's not like I just make this stuff up - I copied it out of the help file) WHY HAVEN'T YOU FOLLOWED THEM?

Sorry, America; #4 is probably the most important step.  In fact, my enjoym...  err, I mean, your success at setting up your computer DEPENDS on it!

Wait a minute...  How old did you say you are?
