Subject: Stupid store clerk

Written By: dagwood on 01/25/02 at 06:59 p.m.

I am angry and need to vent.

I bought a tape at a Media Play the day after Christmas.  It had a twist in it and the darn thing played backwards.  I took it back today to exchange it and the idiot had the nerve to tell me they never stocked that tape >:(.  I don't have the receipt so, of course I have no proof.  I am so angry that I could scream.  Of course this means that I will never go back there again.

Thank you for listening to me vent......all better. ;D

I can empathize with you, dagwood.

We bought a new computer from WalMart that was actually used.  We took it back and they were sold out of the one we had bought.  I had to pull teeth to get the manager (who was rude to my husband and me) to cut me a deal on a better model.  Then that one was messed up.  I returned it, and I haven't set foot in the WalMart since.

Maybe one day I'll decide to go to a different WM, but until then, I'll just go to KMart.

I know, but there are so many stores at our mall that you can find a deal anywhere.  WM can kiss my sweet patootie, I say!!  lol

That's probably why there is no more Media Play in Indianapolis. And Best Buy may be headed in that direction too. Both are pretty good at shagging the customer, if you know what I mean! >:(

Service Merchandise is also going down. :(

there's a lot of chains going under right now.. let's face it, people won't pay more for the same thing they can get somewhere else for less.. especially when the economy looks to be headed into the abyss for the time being.. I'll miss Service Merchandise, Auburn used to have the best store in the chain (that I had ever seen). Best Buy on the other hand is a total pain in the butt, they're too pushy with their rip-off extended service plans.. K-mart is too much like Walmart, and can't compete. I'm surprised that Target moved into my area with a big new store.. I checked it out, I wasn't impressed. Nothing I couldn't find elsewhere cheaper and closer to home.

Pretty soon, it'll all be Wal-Mart. Then, when there is no other department store left for competition purposes, they'll "jack-up" the prices on us all. That's their goal, I think.  ;D

I've heard you can find on-line sites that specialize in service plans and product insurance.  The only time I ever purchased an extended warranty was when I bought a laptop (at Best Buy).  I've been told that the monitors are usually quick to go and they tend to be very expensive to repair/replace.
