Subject: An Atari question...

Written By: Natalie on 04/24/02 at 02:10 p.m.

I absolutely adored the Atari as a youngin', but I can't remember the name of a game I used to play.  All I remember was it was some sort of Decathalon/Olympic style game where there were different events - pole vaulting, running.  I wanted to search for it in Ebay a while back, but I couldn't remember the actual name of the game.  Can any of you help me?

My guess would be "Decathalon", since it was made into various platforms (even an arcade game, I think).  My alternate choice would be "Summer Games" by Epyx, though unless you're talking about an Atari computer and not a game console, I don't think you could play it.

Activision put out a game called "Decathlon" for the Atari 2600.  I bought it for my 13th Birthday but had to take it back b/c there was some glitch where it kept "overheating" when I played for long periods of time (never got through a whole decathlon; and I ended up getting "Kangaroo" and "Crystal Castles" for the same money).  :-/

There was an arcade game called "Track and Field" in the 80's.  Not sure if this was ever picked up in Atari format though.
