What are some annoying habits of yours?  For me:-- BITING MY NAILS!!

I suppose for me it would be running down the street naked.  You have any idea how hard it is to find a support group for that?   ;)

In all seriousness, though, I think for me it would be staying up late at night.  I have such a hard time getting up in the morning, but if I go to bed early, I just can't get to sleep...

Eating instead of smoking.....I mean, I don't want to go back to smoking, so what should I replace eating with?   :-[

I now have a bad habit of munching on chips while in front of the comp.   ::)

SHOPPING!

Since I am, for the better part, anonymous in this place, I can admit to this dreaded disease of the wallet. I love to shop for anything - shoes, clothes, music, entertainment, books, food (although, I've cut back on food in order to afford more clothes...), etcetera.

Again, I not only feel your pain - I share it. Say Whacka-whacka!" (A reference to the church of Pac-Man ;D)

Our body clocks are screwed-up. Any suggestions?

And no going to bed early. It never works.  :-/

That's me exactly! Er..the part about sleeping, not the part about running down the street naked.  :D I just hate going to bed early, and even if I do, and even if I get a good night's sleep, I still can't get up in the morning. I find sleeping a very difficult task in itself. Sometimes I can go for days without sleep without even knowing it. Perhaps my other annoying habit is making lame excuses to miss my school physiotherapy. I also like scaring people by popping my arm out of its socket and then replacing it - which, in all seriousness, is rather painful for them to watch, I think.

You're all friggin' kidding, right? Am I the only blatantly self-destructive individual on the board? I'm down to five cigarettes a day, last night was the first night in three months I had no beer, I've cut caffiene entirely (TA-DAAAA!), but still take ephidrine before the gym, I don't eat for most of the day and then binge around eight or nine...and my cuticles are a disaster. Fortunately I can't afford any more expensive methods of self-medication.

As for sleeping? Try a vicodin e.s. and three beers. That'll put you out, trust me.

I spend too danged much time playing on this computer!!

If I'm not online, I'm playing with a couple of games I have on it.

I also stay up far too late at night.  It started in elementary school, when I would stay up late reading by flashlight.  Then during my teens I stayed up watching cable tv, (which had finally come to our neck of the woods) till mom threatened to smash the screen.  Then I would plug in my headphones and listen to music till the sun came up.

I finally got a night job, which lasted till my daughter was born.  Then, reluctantly, I tried to have a more conventional schedule.  But the second they open up a nighttime elementary school for the children of night shift workers, we are soooo there!!!

I will not give up my caffeine.  Not for anyone, or anything.  I can't.  If I don't have a minimum of three cups of coffee, or the equivalent in soda, per day the migraine fairy comes to get me with her sledgehammer.  And even that's pushing it.  A "normal" day is about ten cups of coffee.

Good luck!!  I will be the first to admit, if I hadn't gotten the scare of my life (and near death), I would still be smoking.  I quit cold turkey, and it was hard.  Every once in a while, I still get a craving.  (I've been off smokes for 1 year, 5 months, 1 week and 1 day.  ;D )

Now, use sugarless gum, carrots and/or celery sticks, and stuff like that when you quit.  Trust me...I O.D.'d on Lifesavers.  Not good.  LOL  If you need someone to vent to when the withdrawals hit you and you want to smoke, please feel free to PM me.  I'll understand perfectly! :)

Well, my most annoying bad habit (which anyone who reads my posts knows) is that I'm hyperverbal. In person, I either don't talk at all, or talk too much too fast. This drives many people up a wall. I'm also an unconscious accent mimic, which means that after a few minutes of talking to someone with an accent I start to slip into their speech rhythyms. I have to be really careful about that one because people usually think I'm making fun of them.

I tend to break into song (singing if there's no one around, whistling if there are people there). And I sometimes tap my feet, drum on tables, etc. in rhythym with whatever song is stuck in my head at the time.  It's no big deal at work (I work for a performing arts college) or with my friends (most of whom are also musicians) but I have to be careful on the subway, at Starbucks, etc. because people look at me funny.  :-[

Flirting with strangers online...No that's not it!  ;D I have a terrible potty-mouth and during times of stress or anger, the expletives come flying forth. If I'm alone, it's not such a big deal but in front of others, my favorite word is not so well received!!  ;)
