Subject: Theme tunes - need original artists please

Written By: FussBudgetVanPelt on 05/01/02 at 07:23 a.m.

Hi - this is not one of my quizzes - I have no idea who originally played these tunes and would really welcome any feedback :

The Black And White Rag - Theme From 'Pot Black' (english snooker show from the 70's)

Theme from 'Rat Patrol' (US war drama series from the 60's ?)

Theme From 'Soap' (US comedy from the 70's)

Theme from 'The Godfather'

Theme From 'Van Der Valk' (British drama from the 70's about a Belgian Private Investigator, I think)

The Black and White Rag is Scott Joplin - I have a CD of his at home (his most famous is probably the Entertainer, the theme tune from "The Sting")

Can't help with the others, I'm afraid

For the Godfather theme, try looking up the Internet Movie Database www.imdb.com

While I can't be 100% sure, I think the theme for 'The Godfather' was written specifically for the film. I would check my Fantomas CD, but I don't have it with me.  ;D
