Subject: Sick of False Ads And Discrimination

Written By: RockandRollFan on 05/02/02 at 01:04 p.m.

I need to find a web host for some pictures (Geocities & Angelfire won't share) so in my quest earlier, I "Asked Jeeves" and found several matches to what I typed,  Free web hosting with NO credit card required so I entered ALL the info they asked, picked a name for my domain and...THEN they asked for a credit card number!  It's not only in this genre that I find this happening either, oh no!  On television I constantly see ads saying...Order by credit card and you'll recieve this bonus gift!Does anyone else go through this kind of frustration or am I the only one who rants about this? ??? Maybe it's just my old age and quickly approaching senility? :o

If you can, check out George Carlin, "We Are All Diseased". He rants about this topic way more in a way I'm sure you'll appreciate.

No, it's not your old age nd senility...I am pissed off by it too. I have vowed to myself I will not work as a telemarketer or for a company like that.

For someon e who has lost credit card priveledges (;)) and wants to buy something from off of tv, its a hassle. Then whats all this crap about needing to 18 yrs old to buy a stupid hair braider off the tv. Or anything off the computer  >:(
It's puzzling.
Something funny happened to my aunt the other day. She was ordering something from a catalouge(sp?) and they asked for her husbands credit card number! She was quite upset.

Uh oh, I've gone and written a novel now. good bye

That doesn't seem right, Scorpian.  ???  Why would they need her hubby's c.c.#?  I hope she told them to get bent.  It's so easy for someone to rip you off these days...
