You can keep it for a few days. I've had 4 nights of storms and I'd had my fill of them!

call me a crackhead, but i LOVE storms.  give me thunder, give me lightning, give me torrential rain (so long as i don't have to drive).  i don't even mind hail that much because we don't get really huge hail around her.  when i was a kid, i always wished the lights would go out so we could light candles...i think it was the pyro in me that wanted to see the flames.

I also LOVE storms,so does my Dad.My Mum always had a fit at us hanging out of the windows or going into the garden to watch a good storm.

I love thunder and lightning storms, provided I am safe indoors.  I get nervous if I am out in it.

I can get a little frustrated if one starts while I am on the computer.  I will shut down immediately for fear the lightning will hit the power or phone lines and fry my hard drive.

(personally, I'd prefer that it be gently melted, as some of us have become accustomed to ;) )

We've had a lot of bad weather here in my neck of the woods.  Mingo and McDowell counties in southern West Virginia have had bad flooding.  Gallia and Meigs counties in Ohio have been hit with tornadoes.  But we still need the rain as we are still in a drought situation.  The problem is, it comes too fast and furious…

Storms are awesome. They make us aware of how insignificant we are.

Storms are great...when I can stay home and sleep.  It's so hard to drive when it's raining outside (especially at night).

Youngcricket, please send some rain down to Mississippi.  It hasn't rained here in about a month.  It's already getting up to 90 degrees during the daytime...couple that with 100% humidity, and it feels like I'm baking in an oven when I walk outside.  It's already too hot to do outside activities like go to the zoo or jog in the afternoon.  Phew!  Give me winter anytime!  Sweaters and Jeans...YEAH!

Ok. Crackhead.

Seriously, though, I'm with you.  I love T-storms-except when they are accompanied by tornados, which they can be in the Midwest!

I like the occassional non-serious thunderstorm. No strong winds or hail, just some thunder in the distance and a nice shower to cool down a hot day!

We've been hit hard the past two months. The river residents are struggling with flash flooding. And the strong winds don't help, either. And I don't have a basement. :-/

The simple rain storm I don't mind at all...I am talking STORMS!!  The kind where tornado warnings are issued every minute..and the lights go out...and cover your ground with inches of hail....just like the night I posted this thread!!!

And Rock n Roll and natmc...I would love to send you ALL of it.....but you have to take the storms with the rain too!!!!

It's not been that stormy here in the last 24 hours but we have gotten 6 inches of rain! They were evacuating some apartments here in town tonight after the rain stopped for a few minutes. Enough is enough!

I like storms as long as they're not the serious kind.  I've been through enough typhoons to last me a lifetime!  I like rain storms...sitting inside with my coffee, watching and listening to the pit-pat on the roof.  Ah.... :)

We had a storm here yesterday.  It wasn't bad, but we had planned on moving some furniture out of my grandpas house and that got canceled.  It annoyed me because one of the couches was for me and I really want a new couch.  I know, I know...have some cheese with your whine. ;)  We are in the middle of a pretty bad drought and I wish it would rain some more.

trust me, i've been called worse than that.  but anyway, i only said that at that time because it seemed like people didn't really care for big ole t-storms.

here in the northeast, we do get the occasional tornado with the storms, but not that many.

The drought up here in the Northeast seems to be over, too.  It started raining around midday on Sunday. (Mother's Day).  It is still raining steadily, the kind of rain that will eventually soak through everything.  It is predicted to last all the way through Wednesday.

But no thunder or lightning. Or high winds, which is also common around here.

About 4 pm today a big storm came through.  I thought there was a tornado going on, with the wind and stuff.  Then came a heavy rain.  And before you know it, it was over…

Our drought is over.  It's been pouring rain since yesterday afternoon.  Some of the low-lying roads are flooded.

I'm sitting here wrapped in a blanket, drinking hot cocoa trying to get warm.  There was just enough wind today to make the umbrellas all useless.  Part of the bus route I take to get home was becoming flooded out, and the State Police were advising people to take a detour.  The bus driver decided to take a chance, seeing as the bus was so much taller than an ordinary car.  Halfway across, the bus lifted off the ground and began floating. :o :o :o :o :o :o

Naturally the engine conked out.  The police tossed us a rope, and tied the other end to a truck and pulled us partway out of the puddle.  We had to walk the rest of the way.  The water was about thigh-high and freezing!

That's one bus driver who will listen to traffic advisories from now on, I bet!!

(And my daughter is fine.  Dry as a bone.  She got carried!)

I think the last good storm I saw was when watching Oasis play at Reading festival, all through their set the lightning moved across the sky behind the stage very impressive if a bit wet!! At the moment it is really windy,I've never known a year for such strong winds all the time.

I know what you mean. There was a huge brush fire over in Rancho Santa Margarita, Las Flores, and Coto De Caza; pretty much, rich folks live there surrounded by walled cities to keep the bad element out - such as us po' folks from the surrounding cities. I felt bad for the animals though. With these fires, where do they go? Land development is rampant over there and they end up getting killed by the humans whenever they approach one of their mansions :'(

Coming from a tropical area, I am used to long periods of constant rain. It's really beautiful and humbling, but I guess I over-romanticize sometimes.
