I dont know if there was already an old topic on this or not, but let's think of songs that have been sampled.

Vanilla Ice used Queen's "Under Pressure" in "Ice Ice Baby."
Len used Andrea True Connection's "More, More, More" in "Steal My Sunshine."
Janet Jackson used America's ?? ?? in "Someone to call My Lover."
Jessica Simpson used John Mellencamp's "Jack and Diane" in "I Think I'm In Love."

These are just a few.  Now, I'll let you name some :)

MC Hammer sampled Rick James' "Super Freak" in "U Can't Touch This"
Janet Jackson sampled Sly & the Family Stone's "Thank You (Falettinme Be Mice Elf Agin)" in "Rhythm Nation" and Diana Ross & the Supremes' "Someday We'll Be Together" in another one of her songs
The Offspring sampled Def Leppard's "Rock of Ages" for the intro to "Pretty Fly (for a White Guy)"

Nu Generation sampled "Rescue Me" by Fontella Bass in their hit "In Your Arms (Rescue Me)".

The Beach Boys sampled The Beach Boys' song "Sail Plane Song" on "Loop De Loop Flip Flop Flying In An Airplane".

The Steely Dan song "Black Cow" was the basis for Lord Tariq & Peter Gunz's "Uptown baby", Michel'le's "Daydreaming", and Tone'loc's "Cutting Rhythms". Do It Again, by the same band, Steely Dan, was sampled on Deacon Blue's Silverlake, and Kiss, by The Art Of Noise. Green Earrings was sampled on Ice Cube's "Never Trust A Big Butt And A Smile". Midnite Cruiser was sampled on Tee Double's "Blazing". Peg was sampled on De La Soul's "Eye Know", Joe Public's "Live And Learn", and Pizzicato 5's "This Years Girl #2". Showbiz Kids was sampled on Super Furry Animals' "The Man Don't Give A...", All Saints' "I Know Where It's At" was based on the Steely Dan song "The Fez", and Third World Man was sampled on Naughty By Nature's Live Or Die.

That would be the guitar sampled from Ventura Highway.

Ice Cube sampled Grandmaster Flash's "The Message" in "Check Yo Self"

Mariah Carey sampled Tom Tom Club's "Genius of Love" in "Fantasy"

Puff Daddy/Notorious B.I.G. sampled David Bowie's "Let's Dance" in "Been Around The World"

P u s s y 2000 sampled The Clash's "Rock The Casbah" in "It's Gonna Be Alright"

Jackson 5's "ABC" was sampled in Naughty by Nature's "O.P.P."
Jackson 5's "I Want You Back" was sampled in Kris Kross's "Jump"

James Brown's "The Payback" was used in En Vogue's "Hold On," "My Lovin' (You're Never Gonna Get It)" and LL Cool J's "Boomin' System"

It's called "Sampling" but I liken it to "Stealing"...I know a few of the artists mentioned have been sued, and rightly so, by the original artists who had the "Talent" to play the music themselves.....

"Pop Goes The Weasel"-3rd Bass sampled "Sledgehammer" by Peter Gabriel
""We Want the Funk"-Gerardo sampled "Tear the Roof Off the Sucker (Give Up the Funk)" by Parliament
"Why is Everybody Always Picking On Me?"-Bloodhound Gang sampled "Spooky" by Atlanta Rhythm Section (the cover of the Classics IV tune) and "Never Let Me Down Again" by Depeche Mode.
"Something Good"-Utah Saints sampled "Cloudbursting" by Kate Bush

Which reminds me, Utah Saints also sampled Eurythmics' "There Must Be An Angel (Playing With My Heart) and Gwen Guthrie's "Ain't Nothin' Goin' On But The Rent" in "What Can You Do For Me"
