What is your term around here for people that come in and post harrassing/offensive posts just to get a rise out of the others?
How tight is everybody here? Have any of you all ever met another poster from here? Did a friendship ensue? Did anybody fall in love? Are there currently any couples here?
Can one post sound, (wav) files here on the boards? The last message board that I frequented, you could. I just wondered if it were the same here.

A: Troll, Gremlin, among other nastier names that makes us (actually, I meant myself) get deleted.
Q: How tight is everybody here?
A: If you were to stick a lump o' coal - out pops out a diamond ???
Q: Have any of you all ever met another poster from here?
A: I think some are relatives (i.e. Goldie and Youngcrickett, Alicia14 and Jessica), and others may have been introduced by acquaintances and friends. I've not met anyone from the board.
Q: Did a friendship ensue?
A: No. But you'll get a lot of testimonials as to how some posters would consider other posters their friends.
Q: Did anybody fall in love?
A: Not me. I don't know anyone that has, but it would be cool to meet some of these guys and gals.
Q: Are there currently any couples here?
A: Only the made up ones that end up being the butt of jokes every now and then.
Q: Can one post sound, (wav) files here on the boards? The last message board that I frequented, you could. I just wondered if it were the same here.

A: Troll.. as in trolling for hits (responses).. we don't get many, and the ones we do get, get deleted PDQ. (This is a moderated messageboard).

A: I don't think so.. you could always post a link to sound file if you want.. I prefer that, just because it could become really annoying..

A: the messageboard first appeared in the fall of 1998. The website has been around since June of 1995.. unless you count my messageboards on my BBS, those go back to the late 80s, but none of those people managed to stick with me when I made the move to the Internet

I have been a member of this messageboard for a few months now - it is definitely a case of not knowing what I was missing ! And to think I only came across it by accident when I was googling one day.......
I had never been on a messageboard before, so I had to "Suck it and see".......
There are some very funny, war, caring, intelligent and witty people in here. I would love to know some of them better, but alas, the tyranny of distance basically puts an end to that idea :'(

How tight is everybody here? Do you mean tight friendship tight or tight a$$ed tight? Friendship - wise, I think we all have at least one or two other folks that have become relied upon as continual sources of support and friendship. The board as a whole becomes incredibly united when faced with a common enemy. (That would be the trolls.) Now as for tight a$$ed, it varies. We all try to stay fun but, shall we say, tastefully sensitive.
Have any of you all ever met another poster from here? Not in real time, but some FABULOUS photos have been distributed.
Did a friendship ensue? See first answer.

Did a friendship ensue? Absolutely, but not just in person. There are a few people around here whom I consider actual friends, even if our only contact so far has been by PM, snail mail, and/or phone calls.

I've never tried to post sounds here, but I've been wordering myself if we could post videos. I think that would be too much bandwidth.
How long has this board been here? Well inthe80s celebrated its 7th anniversary, so I believe the board came out a short time later. ;)

Yes we are relatives! She is my younger sister. And she introduced me to this site in January. Much to her dismay, she tells me quite often!
And yes, there are fellow posters on this board that I would consider my close friends!!

OK, you found out. Now what? J/K. We are both from Indiana, but J.C. is from Indy, which is about 200 miles away from me...I am only about 30 miles east of Chicago. Although I have been known to take a road trip once in a while... ;)

I must admit, I've never met anyone in person; but owing to geographical proximity, I may have "bumped into" Chucky at some point in my life and not known it. I saw his photo, and boy, does he look familiar......
And for friendships, yes, yes, and yes. I can share things with these people that I don't feel comfortable sharing with anyone else.
As for romance, there are a couple of "cyber affairs" going on, that disappear once the participants log off. That is to say, no real affairs (that anyone knows of.... :-X :o :-X)
Because of the distances involved, only a handful of us have ever met the others in person (Goldie and Youngcricket included). Occassionally, someone will look into the idea of a "reunion" or a "convention", but it doesn't get anywhere because of the costs. But I do hereby pledge, that if I win the multi-million dollar lottery, I will finance just such a thing.
