Subject: Songs you never hear any more (all decades)

Written By: chris on 06/04/02 at 02:22 p.m.

I had been about to post this (and maybe some examples I've forgotten) when Criz beat me to it, but only for the 90's.

For some reason I was thinking about Gary Numan's I Die You Die at the time (while listening to the Sisters Of Mercy's 1990 album Vision Thing with a view to adding to the 80's intro's thread, wrong decade anyway) and thinking that is a band I never hear anything from on the radio anymore.

Any more examples? Lame start I know.

I posted most of my 90's list on the 90's thread.

80's:

Howard Jones - New Song
Duran Duran - New Moon on Monday, Skin Trade
Lindsey Buckingham - Go Insane
Arcadia - Goodbye Is Forever
Depeche Mode - Everything Counts
Erasure - Stop
OMD - Secret, Dreaming
Men At Work - It's A Mistake, Overkill

90's:
Dionne Farriss (sp) - I Know
Arrested Development - Tennessee
Jane's Addiction - Stop, Been Caught Stealing

00's:

Other than

Will Smith - Will2K (this was released in '99 and was played for about a week into 2000)

I can't think of any...the current Top 40 stations in my area play the same songs over and over.

You've got me thinking about songs from this decade as well now...

A vast majority of the songs from the 1950's and 1960's never get played anymore on oldies stations.  :(
