Subject: How was everyones day?

Written By: Screwball54 on 06/05/02 at 10:26 p.m.

Since no ones posting anything tonight, I'll try to spark some conversation.  How was everyones day?  Everything I did today was a pain.  I went to the unemployment office, the lady told my I had to apply for a job, so I applied for a job fixing X-ray Equipment.  The company listed the pay as 7.50/hr, which I thought was kind of wierd for that type of job, but I applied anyway.

Then I got a call from my old doctors office, they dont have my medical records, and they won't admit to loosing them.  So now to re-enlist I have to go get an asthma test done, so I drive downtown to the VA hosital and they gave me an application and told me to come back tomorow.

A pretty crappy day.

I spent the day updating my resume and sending them out.  Sent 17, total, today.  Then had to go get the load smogged as its registration time again.
It was hotter than usual, today, and I was hatin' it!
Right now I'm watching "The Crocodile Hunter" and sipping a cold brew.
So, Screwball, you're going back into the service, huh?  I've seriously considered it, but I think I'm too old, now.

I've been surfing the boards at military.com (I wouldn't of been coaught dead there when I was in), and a lot of service members are comming back In. Granted I've only been out for eight months, but some people over there got out in the late eighties and are re-enlisting.

I don't understand how that could be good! I'd much rather it be cold than hot. I can put on enough clothes to stay warm but even if you naked in 100 degree weather, you are still gonna be HOT!

My day wasn't the greatest, either.  Yesterday my voice started sounding hoarse...today it was worse!  I suppose it could have happened from all the yelling I did at the kids... :-/  If only I could get them to stop doing all the things they shouldn't be doing...then maybe I wouldn't have so many gray hairs!  Oh, the pains of parenting....

Not too bad.  A muggy 94 degrees here yesterday. :P
I got most of what I needed to get done at work yesterday, spent an hour on a tutorial for a new program in our work system, and I'll probably have to refer to the guide after we go live with the program.

Looking forward to Friday.  :)

Well, when the thread was started on Wednesday, I was having a rotten day at work.  I had been so bored for three days, I was going around to all the departments asking for something to do, no matter how stupid.  I was reduced to sorting paperclips by size and color to look busy, when my boss suddenly "found" a lot of work that needed to be done--ASAP.  It was a lot of financial stuff that should have been done two weeks before.  (So why hadn't he given it to me back then?)

By the time I got home, I had a combination migraine/tension headache and could barely see.

Now that it's Friday, I'm doing MUCH better  ;D  ;D ;D;D(even though it's pouring rain).  We all tend to get a bit silly Fridays after lunch, and that makes a world of difference.

Since this thread was started on June 5, I will tell you about my day in Banasyland.

I had a bought a new fridge the day before, and these two men came to deliver and set it up.  They had no problem taking out my old one, but when it came time to bring the new one in, well...let's just say they had a lot of problems!  I have an island in my kitchen that is a bit higher than normal...it's 44 inches tall.  My kitch was custom built by the original owners, and apparently the fridges were smaller back then.  They had to lift the fridge horizontally over the stupid island.  After they put it down, one of them said, very politley, "Miss, I cut my hand."  I looked, and there was a gash the size of Julia Roberts' mouth on the meaty part of his palm. I was talking to my best bud Rock N Roll Fan at the time, and I just hung up on him.  I told them to get to a hospital, as the man was bleeding out in my house.  He was clearly in shock; he was shaking worse than Katharine Hepburn. (Sorry, I couldn't resist!) I thre a tip at them, I gave him some gauze, wrapped it real tight with an Ace Bandage, and told him to keep it over his head.  I told them where the nearest hopsital was, and they booked. I thought it weird that the injured gut drove...

Well, Sears called, and said that there may be a delay in delivery, because one of the guys got hurt.  I then had to admit that it was at MY house that the dude got juked.

Well, about 2 hours later, THEY CAME BACK!!!!  I said to the uninjured one, "Well, at least he can collect Workman's Comp."  He then informed me that the guy OWNED the truck, he was an indie, and that he had to cancel all deliveries, thus losing a good chunk of his income.  They said that they didn't want to leave me without a fridge!  What dedication!!!! AND the cut required 11 stitches!

Well, they hung the doors crooked, but I wasn't going to call them back, Thank You!

RnRF was on the phone- I am not making this up.

We will next see a Fox special:  "Caught On Tape:  When Appliances Attack!!"

Only in my world! ::)

Do I take it that the word 'hump' means something different over there ?

Because it sure as hell has an alternate meaning here  :D

I'm not dagwood, but...

Here we refer to Wednesday as "hump day" because it's in the middle of the work week. Once you get past the hump, it's all downhill!

Of course "hump" also has the same meaning that you're thinking of, there just isn't a specific day for it!  :D

Well thank goodness for that !  No you're certainly not Dagwood, W.L. !  Having said that, neither am I  :)

I thought, "Hello, I'll have a look at this".  Then I saw that Dagwood was an office worker (as am I) and I thought "She has a good and understanding employer !".

I'm glad they haven't imposed a specific day on you guys !

I shall now use the expression hump day at work and get myself in heaps of trouble, I'll wager !

Thanks for that W.L.

Bitterness is a tough adversary. Make certain you have a good lawyer. Your husband cannot legally fire you from a business you both own together. With a good attorney, you will be able to retain at the very least 50% of the business and any and all assets acquired during your marriage and legally are abound to retain 100% of everything you owned before the marriage.

Don't go down without a fight for what is rightfully yours no matter how sad, guilty or depressed you are!!!

Get out there and fight!
