Subject: My 4th Of July...

Written By: Hairspray on 07/04/02 at 12:14 a.m.

spent here online says a lot about how I'm not going anywhere and not doing anything to celebrate really, except for staying home and drinking a bit to forget how lousy my day has been so far.

Sorry about dumpin' on ya. I guess everyone has their day, right.  :-/

Hairspray,

So sorry that you are having a dull 4th! Nothing much is going on on my end either; no barbeque, no get together. It is just another day.... :(

Thanks for your thoughts. Yeah, what's up with that? It seems we should be doing something, anything outside of our house if even just out in the porch/balcony/yard. I'm sorry to hear you too are having the "just another day" blues.  :-/

My 4th July was pretty ordinary, as it is 'just another' day here.

However, it is already 5 July here, I'm on a day off, and my day has started off fantastic !  ;D  Someone is smiling on me today !

If only I could guarantee more days like it.

FB  ;D

Yeah, everyone has those days.  I'm pretty much doing the same thing...I should throwing meat on the grill, instead I'm watching AMC's "Indy-pendance Day".  All Indiana Jones, all the time.  I can't get enough of it!

I spent the day moving in 100 degree weather and I am hot and tired and still have so much more to do...but mom (YES I am still staying with my folks!!!  but not for much longer!!) is getting ready to throw something on the grill and I think we will shoot off some fireworks later on, followed by a nice dip in the pool...so all in all it has not been a bad day

I didn't do anything today either!! It was a quiet day around here, hubby was working and the boys went to the pool. I stayed home and watched "Vanilla Sky"-it's a weird movie!! Hopefully the rain that moved in this afternoon will move out and we can go see some fireworks later tonight!

Goldie, I would pay you real money for some of that rain right now.

We are in the fifth day of an early heat wave.  Temperatures have not dropped below 95 degrees (that's farenheight for our overseas members) and it's so humid, it's like a sauna.

My daughter is still a bit too young to deal with a long trip by bus to see the fireworks, but next year, if the temperature is "normal" (70's or 80's) we will go.

There are a lot of people in my neighborhood who were born in other countries, and some of them were sworn in as citizens today.  They are all at private parties now, but when they get back there will be quite the block party going on.

I'm looking forward to celebrating with all my neighbors.

Sorry that your day wasn't more exciting, Hairspray.  I've had lots of days like that.

Fortunately today has been a pretty good one for me....I got to sleep in until 9 a.m.!!!  That alone is worth celebrating, as it rarely happens when you have small kids who insist on waking you up early!

Mine sucked.  Actually, it was a hold-over from yesterday, when I quit my job.  Today I spent working on some things, getting ready to start a new job tomorrow.

My 4th was ordinary too. We did have KFC for dinner, and I went to see fireworks, but that was about it. But I'm on leave from work until next Tuesday, so I hope it turns out better. (I usually take a week close to the 4th because I used too much leave this year. So I'm really sacrificing this year.)

My 4th was just like any other day....I listened to lots of music and had a few drinks...only difference is I had a Few more than I usually do ;) Oh, and there weren't any fireworks allowed around here, what with all the fires lately....so I'll save my pop bottle rockets for a nice winter snowbank...at least it's a lot safer that way ;)

Thanks for sharing guys and gals.  :)

My day was pretty blah. Drinking early in the day didn't quite help. I'm not a regular drinker of alcohol, so I was inebriated.

I decided to get out of my slump, sobered-up, took a nice cooling shower and got out of the house. I had a better evening. I got to see an excellent fireworks display too!

So my day ended well.  :)

I must say I was again reminded of just how nice it is to have you guys and gals in this awesome community here. You all could get anyone through anything, without a doubt.

Thank You.
