Subject: Car Trouble-Again!

Written By: Indy Gent on 07/10/02 at 10:19 a.m.

In my latest attempt to go to work, I have experienced more problems with my Neon. You know I am trying to get my used AC compressor installed by this mechanic that my friend knows. But the friend hadn't been to work for two days, not including the holiday and weekends and I still don't know the man's (mechanic) address or phone number. (My friend doesn't have a phone.) Now I've discovered possible transmission trouble. My car could just barely moved after I tried to drive it. And forget about acceleration; it's just about non-existent. I may just have to finance another car if this keeps up.  :(

Sorry to hear about your car.  My sister's Corsica just broke, it's getting fixed right now, and it really sucks for her.  Hope your car gets better soon.  :(

Yeah, leave it to a southern belle to kick a man when he's down. ::) I apologize if you can't stand the Pepsi logo. But I won't change it just because you like that internal organ eating soft drink.
Remember, Coke is a 4-letter word.  ;D
Have a Pepsi. ;)

I haven't taken the car to the shop yet. But I know what the problem is. Apparently my transmission is leaking again. I left a large greasy blot on the concrete while it was there. And a found a plastic coat hanger thing that made me believe some of the thugs here punctured a hole under my car. I don't want to jump into conclusions, but the vehicle's been messed around with ever since the second time it was stolen. >:( I guess I'll have to take the bus to work tomorrow. :(

I've worked with southern belles, and I know about their 'bad sides' (and fronts and centers (j/k)). Well at least they're beautiful, so we don't mind their short tempers. ;D

Sorry about your car, I have had a couple of problems with my neon two, so i feel your pain. you might want to try the neon website and see what they think the problem is. Also after you get an estimate from the shop, you might want to post at their website  and make sure the shops not ripping you off.

As for your car, J.C. i hope things work out for you ;) As for coke being rot gut...pepsi is just as bad...and remember I KNOW a former pepsi challenge girl who had the lowdown on pepsi and thier underhanded ways....seriously though...good luck with the car stuff, I am praying for things to work out for you.

Did this girl work for 7-Up too? I was just thinking about the 7-Up commercial where the comic playing the soda's sales rep was using liquids like bile, bleach, mud, etc. to fool the blindfolded tasters into liking 7-UP.
Don't tell me Pepsi did the same thing. :o
As for the Neon, I'm pretty sure a gasket was leaking. The fluid spill was pretty huge. :-/

Well this doesn't mean I change my opinion of Coke. If you like me less because of my loyalty to Pepsi, so be it. Just remember, they never found a rat in a Pepsi bottle or can. ;)

Maybe not, but I once found a little red stick in a bottle of Pepsi...the 16oz. kind...back in 1968.   But I still like Pepsi.

Don't feel so bad J.C., I just found out that between a $65 starter and a $165 one, my car needs the latter >:(

Subject: Re: Car Trouble-Again!

I'm sorry about your starter, RnRF. It looks like I'm gonna pay three times the total of both starters for a transmission. That is, if I'm lucky. That's not even including the monet to install a new AC compressor, which with the transmission, might total $1,000. >:(

Well, my greatest fears are confirmed. I need to replace my transmission. Apparently, the hole in the bottom is too big for my old tranny to be rebulid. But I did get a good deal on a used one from the mechanic fixing: $850 plus $400 for labor, which I can pay in bi-weekly installments of $100. He doesn't just do this for everybody. But since he is a friend of my co-worker, he decided I needed a break. And he is still installing my AC compressor and waiving the labor on that.  :D
Now if I can only pay off my credit bill from H.H. Gregg.  :-/

Well, thanks for the concern.  I learned that making some phone calls really pays off!  At "Autozone" my starter ran $165 and the other one was $65,  while at "Checker" it was the opposite :D so now I have my car running again! I'm sorry to hear about yours though, J.C., I wish I could help.

I bought a 1987 Yugo in 1999, for $300 and it ran great (37mpg city/45 mpg highway) and just sold it to a friend for $200.  I enjoyed it but my Honda will last me a long time...knock on wood!

Thanks for your concern, Rock.  :)
I'll be okay, as long as I'm still employed and single. I'm glad your car is running again. I've taken the bus all week, which I have done this long since my car was stolen in Denver. I'm also glad you don't live in Denver. You'd probably get mugged there. You know I'll never go there again.  :-/
