Subject: Dreams

somewhat related to nightmares, just not as scary.

I was walking down Las Vegas Blvd. (the strip) with my girlfriend and Janne (past manager) and kim (past co-worker) seen me and came up to me and starting to chat with me.  I looked at them like I didn't know them at all.  I finally just walk away, when I did I heard a loud crash from the back of me.  When I went over to see what it was, Janne and Kim were lying dead on the street from getting hit by two cars.  I looked down then when I looked up I seen Jeremy (another past co-worker), we looked at each other and started to laugh hysterically.

Nobody seems to like this thread, so I'll see...

A lot of the time when I dream, I seem to have flashbacks of things that I can't change, things that happened in the past, things that I should have altered from the past, I never did, and regret now, whatever. I guess you could call it "holding on to the past", but I don't see it that way. I feel it as the first step to actually letting it past, as what happens is unchangeable, you can't merely go and alter the past to your desire, unlike the present nor future. That really makes me seem like a very insecure person, one that is not sure of the things that happened in the past, and, let's be honest, like everyone, I have done things that, in retrospect, I shouldn't. In this way, I really have to live for every day as it comes, and each night, I merely let my mind live for me. And when it doesn't, I still have memories of good things (I hate to hold on to the depressing) from the past.

Living, that sounds like a far-flung desire, now.  ::)

I posted this in the "Nightmare" thread....this is the edited version...just the happy part ;)

Thankfully he came to me in a wonderful dream (We were somewhere in Scotland in a fog.)  As we stood in a field of rolling grass hills, he walked over to me and said "Dad, I want to run those hills" (We used to run together all the time) to which I replied "Blaine, you can't run, you've been injured and need to recover....to which he said "Dad, I'm alright" as he smiled and ran off into the fog and disappeared.....I know this was supposed to be about nightmares, but with the contrast from my, by far, worst nightmare to best dream of my entire life, I had to tell you. I am finally starting to remember all of the happy times with my awesome son...after all, it was him that told me in his own way, to carry on and that he's alright....

You have experienced more tragic incidents than you should have, RnRF. The memories you have will be treasured for yet a lifetime to come.

I've had many dreams that i'm running from something, but as i'm running i just stay in the same place...and for some reason, everything in the dream is much bigger than me.

My "good" dreams (the not-scary ones) are generally a replay of an actual event in my life.  Or more likely they are a re-play of a scene on a tv show I watched before going to bed or a favorite scene from a book.

The difference is that a little way in, things go all "weird".  A dream of a real-life concert I attended will suddenly go all odd when fictional characters will join the band onstage.  Sometimes a dream of a tv show will get all jumbled up with other tv shows, and I get The Crocodile Hunter chasing down mummies with Brendan Fraser, while Jeff Corwin is teaching the staff of ER a thing or two about medicine. ;D ;D

Pure sillyness.... ;D

I cant remember any of my dreams line by line, but I do sometimes have reoccuring fictional places in my dreams, and whenever i go to them in a dream, i know I've been there before.
