Subject: If you could travel back in time?

Written By: Q.Aviator on 08/12/02 at 03:37 p.m.

Ok guys, you're all probably gonna think i'm strange asking this but what would you like to see if traveling back in time were possible? I would have liked to live in the 50s. There's just something about that decade, and from what many people who did live through the 50s have told me about it.

I don't think I could pick just one...I would like to spend some time in each decade....all of them had things I would liked to have experienced.  Esp. the 60's

I've always wanted to spend time in the early 1900s, though I would like to visit other times as well, including the Medieval times (though very briefly as I think living conditions were not the greatest).

I'd go back to the 1940's. I don't know why, but I've always been obsessed with that time period.

I'd probably go back to the 70's and try to undo all the stupid things I did as a kid, such as ignoring others.

Oooh, I like this topic.

There are two decades I am fascinated with, well, actually three...

I love everything about the early 1900s.  I just finished reading "The Jungle" by Upton Sinclair (I never read it in high school like I was supposed to), and I am amazed at the difficulty people were faced with daily.  It makes me realize how truly blessed we are to be living like we do today.  It also makes me nostalgic for a time where people actually worked for what they had - from dusk til' dawn.

I love the 1920s (flapper era) because the fashion was beautiful and fun.

Everytime I watch "A Christmas Story" I wax nostalgic for the 40s.  That movie painted a beautiful picture of family life in the 40s.  I wish I could have lived during that time.

I would love to live in the pre-Civil War south.  I can't put why to words, but I love the idea of being a Southern Belle.  It wouldn't work very well with me, though, I would be totally opposed to slave ownership.

there would be plenty of stops on my voyage.  First thing would be the garden of eden 6,000 years ago, to see If my faith had been in vain all this time.  After that, It would be africa 6,000 years ago to see If mad scientist Yacub really grafted white people to rid the original Black man of all thats inpure.  Then to egypt when they were building the pyramids, to find out just how they did It.  If the Adam and eve thing doesn't pan out, It would be to Lemuria 20,000 years ago to sea the suposed lost Civilization with technology greater than our own.

I would travel back to April 17, 1998 and stop my kid from doing something incredibly stupid.

I would love to go back to the 80s. Not because it's the decade I was born in, purr say (although, granted, it was) but because there were so many things that happened in that decade which I couldn't avoid, and things that I did back then which I wish I could, but I can't affect now. I was a very hyperactive child, and I'd probably have been slightly calmer - preserving my energy, and perhaps letting me get some sleep at nights.

I would like to go back to the 80's and undo some things that I should never have done in the first place.   :'(

After that, instead of traveling back I would really like to travel forward.  A little peek into my daughters grown-up life for some peace of mind now or major changes depending on what I see.   ;)

I would like to have started about 10 years earlier so I could remember or have experienced all the things that were going on in the 60's that I am too young to remember....

I wish I could have conciously lived through all of the 80's - the ers of great music and terrible (but in some way I still find it cool!) fashion in my opinion :). I would have loved to live through my teens in the decade.
