Subject: "Childhood" ... "Stage of Mindset"

Written By: Sagnastian on 08/12/02 at 11:06 p.m.

here's like two songs that I wrote like a year ago or so.  both songs of course have a rapping rhyme with a slow mellow beat.  I got the beat in my head so I hope you can make one up for these two.  here goes:

"My Childhood"
CHORUS:
had to love my childhood, damn it was all good
Bridgeport, back then you know it was my hood
but as a child with one big dream
nice car and house with a large money scheme
ready for it, let me set the perfect scene

Verse 1:
me and my friends were some damn misfits
we didn't give a fuck or a god damn shit
known as the porkchop slangers
the wanna-be gang bangers
sliding on the frozen water like we were ice skating
my brother told us of a yetti, well thats what he was saying
but oh the fuck well, he just might go to hell
cause like i said we didn't give a fuck less
letting the others deal and cope with the stress
playing life like a book full of rules
at times were broke when we skipped school
hanging out at our favorite place known  Porkchop
seemed like everyday we're getting chased by the  cops
we were all stuck right in the game
from Tatham to mack back to hidden lane
that's we all hung out
mischievous things that was always done out
when my x-boy hit 7-11 with a pack of rubbers
filled them with water trying to break them like solar pool covers
'bout the time it was midnight hanging at the corners
gambling with a playboy deck, basketball cards, dollars and  quarters

CHORUS:::

Verse 2:
first crush with Erin happened in second grade
i was young and dumb chasing her about every other day
then i moved on to another school
oh no a private, i felt like a fool
being a little shy boy at St. Stephens
fifth to sixth grade worshipping god and never demons
Sarah and Lisa hey do you remember me
i was with sarah, but lisa you know wanted me
for a low gpa i got kicked off the basketball team
so Lisa quit the squad and stopped the cheerlead
was afraid of the ghost at the age of thirteen
going with Mandy, i know that shit wasn't clean
but I gotta admit that the bitch could kiss
first whore in my book along with a diss
ha ha, remember that girl Kim, what a mistake
why her being fat and ugly, please help for my sake
remember my face Becky, also known as jawbone
Charlie was your first love, buts he's been long gone
onto 8th grade, how you doing Kayla being three years younger
who Blair,  she was just a friend besides Dave and Sonny done her

CHORUS:::
(***note*** never finished the third verses on that)

Stage of Mindset
wanna make it through life better listen
fuck the beat, open ears and see whats been missin'
while layin on my bed stressed the fuck out
there ain't no girl in this world that can come twist me out
reminisce about the days of my childhood
what a perfect life, damn it was all good
at parts of my life feel like I was cheated
wanna forget my probs and go get weeded
people cheat through life and others work hard
it took me twenty years to get this far
lifes a game, just another challenge
been faced with problems  though I couldn't handle
so I turned to the high man, rhyming with a burning candle
in my mind at the time to face a fear
evil bull wants me to sin so I better beware
when so does come the day of judgment
make a wrong move or turn get thrown in the dungeon
back in Michigan, mindset filled with happiness and grief
point of life where i wanna be attending UNLV
true blue lovin to be a Runnin Rebel
face of disguise, got peeps thinkin am the devil
don't 'round me unless been somewhere to my level
shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit

this is the stage of ones mindset
the one song people can never forget
lay back and listen while on the bed
don't be bullied, well at least not to the head
I spoke to Illicit and this is what he said

well what cha think?

I thought it was great.  My friend and I wrote a rap song once, It is tuff.

Firstly, the first, and most obvious point. They're meant as rap songs? I'm not the greatest rap fan, and therefore I wouldn't be able to cast a fair judgement. Then again, work is only comparable to work of self, it shouldn't really be compared to work of others, it's not fair.

The first one has got, and I mean this, a very good meter. I can recite this very well, all of the way through, without any problem. Plus it's got a single theme, which you are passionate in. The past, what happened in this period, and so forth. Again, with me not being interested in the rap phenomenon, I'll say that I like it. Rap fans? Help me out please.

Stage of Mindset? I like it. Bears a very autobiographical theme. But I guess the whole idea of these is that it gives you practice for the rhyme time games.

If the third verse ever does exist, post it!
