Subject: all fun and games?

wow...i knew you penguins were playful, but i didn't think that you were THAT playful...seems it's all turned into games here while i was gone. and extensive-looking games at that (holy multiple pages, batman). and a new welcome board, too. where's a girl to start in this familiar, yet oh-so-different place?
as you all can see, i finally have the internet back...the new house is in and we're slowly moving our stuff in. (for newbies from the last 5 weeks, i'm panda and i had to leave for awhile while we got a new house) let me tell you, the second we had electricity and water, we started getting beds through the doors so we could have some peace and privacy from grandma. we love her dearly, but she was starting to drive us totally NUTS!!! we got the phone hooked back up yesterday and last night mom made sure the internet was connected...she was going through some serious withdrawal. we got cable back today and now we're waiting on the gas company so we can use our stove and hot water. as it is, we still have to go to gram's to shower.
it was rough living with my grandma...she's of the 'open mouth, insert foot' species, except most the time she knows full well that she's inserting the foot. we almost had some lovely arguments, especially after she made sure to severly criticize 'lord of the rings' in front of me after hearing me say how much i liked it. yeah, it was pleasant. i coped by finding all the knitting stuff that i had when i was a kid and wanted to learn knit (but never did because i was too impatient with myself to figure it out)...and i taught myself how to knit--and this time i was patient enough to figure it out. i'm working on a couple of projects at the moment, so it keeps me occupied.
my boyfriend went into the marines. he just left last week, so he's barely started with his basic training. i'm so proud of him. i was an emotional wreck for a little bit, but i'm much better now. i started running every morning so i could 'be with him' on some level while he's running his little tush off. he thought that was a sweet idea.
that's about it for my update. it's nice to be back.
