Subject: Is your supervisor a dictator?

Written By: jamminoldies on 09/18/02 at 07:14 p.m.

I go to my workshop in the city and my supervisor Lisa sounds like a"Hitler".It's like when she talks to the co-workers like a bunch of 5 year olds in Kindergarden.I mean, some of us are over the age of 21 and some are older than the stated age.She says things like:

"If you guys don't sit in your seats, nobody's going home at 2:45pm".
"I'm ashamed at all of you,You embarassed me".
"Go away,Leave me alone"!
"If you do this again,I'm gonna have to send you all home"!

I mean,we may have learning disabilities, but we're not stupid morons. It seems to me that I have a lot of anxiety from being in that place every day and the supervisior is a prick sometimes.I like her somewhat, but it's the way she treats the co-workers.I don't like being treated like a 5 year old.I'm 30 years old.Is your supervisior a dictator sometimes? -howard- :)

Lisa is inept and doesn't have a clue.  Probably also scared... scared of screwing up and losing her job, maybe.  If she get's unbearable, assemble your grievances and go over her head with them.

1. Buy the paper
2. look at the want ads.
3. Go get a real job
4. Make sure you are hired somwhere else
5. then tell Lisa where to shove it.

I am sorry, but complaining to us each month is not going to fix your problem.  You are the only one that can fix your current situation.

BTW: My supervisor at my job is pretty cool, although when I was in the Navy i met quite a few @ssholes.

If only it were that easy, Screwball54. Mentally disabled people like Howard aren't going to get a second look. The job searching is too vicious and the management too strict for a fair shake. The only company that might hire him is Goodwill, and that is only for maintanence work in the office of other less demanding jobs. I wish Howard good luck though, whatever he does. :)

I think what they're doing is they're recycling her. There are 3 groups in the workshop. She's been in Grp.1,She's been in Grp.2,She's been in Grp.3 and she came back to grp.2 after a supervisor quit after 8 months.

Nah,not Goodwill.I just don't want to be in a workshop with a bunch of mentally retarded people(no offense).I want to be independent.I haven't had a real job in 8 years.I'm hoping to go for clerical,maintainence,or stock.Thanks a lot for the confidence,Indy!  ;D
