Subject: Favorite Song EVER!

Written By: Junior on 10/03/02 at 06:16 p.m.

I'm not sure if this thread has come up before, but what is your favorite song OF ALL-TIME?

Me, personally? It's always changing....but I'd have to say at the time it's...

Garth Brooks "Friends In Low Places" ...really odd, considering how much I despise most country music...

Check back for my constant changes. :-P

At the moment, it's a tie between "The Morning After" by Linkin Park and "Head Games" by Foreigner.

I'm right there with you Junior....I Despise Country music...most of it....AND my fave song is constantly changing.  For instance, right at this very moment I am listening to my collection and am up to 1978 (From the 1962 starting point last Saturday morning) and am Listening to one-hit wonder Walter Egan with "Magnet & Steel" so I'd have to say that's it for the moment :D........until the next song comes on!

I'm another who has a changable mind when it comes to favorites.  I think a lot of it is that we grow and change as people all the time.  As we change our tastes change.

I'll always stop to listen to "Jamaica Farewell" no matter who is singing it.  The first time I heard it was in elementary school, and it was one of the songs my favorite teacher was having us learn for music class.

Harry Belafonte's version is still my favorite, but just this summer, I heard one of my daughter's camp counselors singing it for the kids, and I fell instantly in love all over again. (and the fact that he was really, really nice looking didn't hurt either. ;) :-

If you asked me a top ten it would change from week to week, but the top two never change.  My favorite song is and as far as I can foretell will always be "Everlong" by the Foo Fighters.

*1 In This Town (Eurythmics)
*2 Kite (U2)
*3 Wherever You Are (Neil Finn)
*4 Yellow (Coldplay)
*5 My favourite Mistake (Sheryl Crow)

These are in no particular order and there are many more I could list as well!

Okay, it's changed. :D

I've realized that Friends In Low Places isn't my FAVORITE favorite song. My FAVORITE favorite song is:

Sir Mix-A-Lot "Baby Got Back".

I don't really have a favorite, but one of the songs I love the most is a haunting song by Loreena McKennitt called The Mystic's Dream.  Here's a verse from it:

"A painting hangs on an ivy wall
Nestled in the emerald moss
The eyes declare a truce of trust
Then it draws me far away
Where deep in the desert twilight
Sand melts in pools of the sky
Darkness lays her crimson cloak
Your lamps will call me home"

I don't know if it's a song but on the Who's Tommy album the section in Go To The Mirror and the end of We're Not Gonna Take It that goes:  Listening to you, I get the music gazing at you I get the heat, etc.

It that a song and what's the title?

Of course it's gotta be Bon Jovi.....

Bed of Roses

"Now as you close your eyes know I'll be thinkin' about you
While my mistress, she calls me to stand in her spotlight again
Tonight I won't be alone but you know that don't mean I'm not lonely
I've got nothing to prove for it's you that I'd die to defend"

Well, I had a favorite song when I was a child and a teen, and I've never really thought about changing it -- it still sounds good and brings back memories of my youth, and that is R.Dean Taylor's "Indiana Wants Me" even if the lyrics now do sound really hokey.... :)

Decisions, decisions!   Well, it USED to be "Always Be My Baby" by Mariah Carey.  But now I would have to say it's either "Mourning" by Tantric or "Chop Suey" by System of a Down.   But I'll probably find a new favorite song soon.   :-/

Impossible question to answer... but...

When I'm in a quiet and mystic mood, Sinead O'Connor did a take on She Walked Through the Fair.  I think it was on Van Morrision's/The Chieftains Irish Heartbeat.

Mine varies, depending on my mood, like everyone else, it changes fairly often..but, one has always been  ''Ecstacy'' by VVI..
I have also always loved  "The Sun Always Shines on TV'', by a-ha.
