Need some quick verification on this from someone. I believe today celebrates the first anniversary of this messageboard. Happy birthday, board!

Well, it's pretty damn close.  I registered on October 22.  Actually, I liked the old board better and thought of not registering for the new one, because I prefer to be anonymous.  As for someone jumping out of the cake, it would have to be Mystery Woman clad only in her birthday suit…  :o  ;)  :-*

good call.. I certainly was first registered, and my date shows as 10/19... so I guess it's the one year anniversary of the YABB software. Aside from one hacker killing about 25,000 posts, it's been fairly reliable software too.. no complaints, price was right (the old software actually cost $50 and had next to zero support)

If you factor in those lost posts, we did about 100,000 posts so far with the current software.. not too shabby.. though I guess the current games board is helping to inflate that number a little..

May 28, 1998 was the start of the first succesful messageboard for my sites.. so I guess the 5th anniversary is coming up this spring for that.. (close to the 8th anniversary of the 80s site).. though none of the current posters were around back then..

well, you are one of the reasons I never required registration, yet you went ahead and registered anyways.. I wonder how big the user files would be if I had forced registration this whole time.. and I wonder how many people we lost permently due to the software change.. I know there were a couple people who couldn't figure out the new software..
