Subject: Favorite Television Series

Without doubt, my favorite television series, and in my opinion by far the best television ever, is The Rockford Files.

James Garner is a perfect television star.  He's likeable, intelligent, easy-going.  The scripts were usually first rate, and the cast was excellent... Noah Beery, Jr., Stuart Margolin... I dunno if there was ever a better series.

My TV s usually reserved for some type of sports. I also dig "The Discovery Channel", documetarys and such. but as far as series, Hill Street Blues and the original Star Treks were favorites wayback when. And comedys.....I'd have to go with Seinfeld (I'll  challenge anyone on Seinfeld trivia), All In The Family and Cheers.

My current favorites are Presidio Med, the Osbournes, and Firefly.  I also like ER, but not as much now as I did in the past.  Eriq LaSalle is gone, and I'm not sure if I like some of the newer characters.

For all-time favorites, add in Xena:Warrior Princess, Forever Knight, The Carol Burnett Show, Sesame Street, and Monty Python's Flying Circus!!! http://www.clicksmilie.de/sammlung/alles_moegliche/allesmoegliche006.gif

The Simpsons. It's like the only thing I watch.

I caught She Spies in the middle of the night once.  I got hooked, even though the show is incredibly stupid (but in a good fun way).

I think they call them "telenovellas" in Brazil.
Anyhoo, I don't have an all time favorite. Series like M*A*S*H, All In The Family, The Waltons, Gunsmoke, The Carol Burnett Show, I Love Lucy, and Friends are some I enjoy.

It's a Brazilian soap opera... The story is fantastic and intriguing. I was hooked from the start.

I think you're right, but most of my family calls them "novelas". I used to watch them with my grandmother who would translate them for me. IMO, they are far more interesting than American soap operas.

Let's do this by decade:

50s: I Love Lucy
60s: Get Smart, Star Trek, Bewitched, I Dream of Jeannie
70s: this must have been a crappy decade, I don't remember anything good from this era on the tube...
80s: A-Team (love the bad Mr. T acting), MacGyver (he killed an Iraqi with a fire extinguisher missile, for crying out loud!)
90s: Baywatch (before Hawaii), Friends

I'll tell you what I liked in the 2000s in a few years ;)

My favourite TV show has to be ER - you just gotta love Dr Luka!  I was also a huge Seinfeld fan.  During the 80's my favourite shows were 21 Jump Street and Tour of Duty.

I'm addicted to the novelas as well. Currently, I'm into Las Vias del Amor, La Otra, Juego de la Vida and Asi Son Ellas. My favorites of all time were Mujeres Enganadas and Volver a Empezar... (With Yuri and Chayanne!)

Hey, Max, I just can't wait for Sunday night!

I also loved "The Beverly Hillbillies."  And there is a new episode of "South Park" coming out on Wednesday…

I just wish they would replay Hill Street Blues - I would watch it again from the start

I thought Renko and Belker were great characters

Yeah, there's nothing better than a new episode of The Simpsons.
Come to think of it, there's nothing better than a rerun of The Simpsons!

There's nothing better than seeing these new series ten episodes in England. They've been great, so far.
