I remember having such strange dreams.Let me tell you about one.I figured it was almost time for me to wake up around 9:00am.It was about 8:30am and I went back to sleep.Ok,this dream had occured in a movie theatre. My Young Adult Program decided to take us all to watch a movie.Me,my friend John and Anthony we all sat together but there was this ONE empty seat and I think this gorgeous Chinese girl sat right next to us.I think she must've been sort of drunk or something. As we were watching the movie, she was flirting with my friend Anthony but he didn't like it,so John and Anthony moved away from her leaving just Her and I together and all of a sudden she becomes flirty with me and she starts touching me and then she almost unzippered her tight blue jeans and exposed her panties and I said"Please, not here, let's just watch this movie and concentrate".She then starts to french-kiss me and after that my alarm went off.So much for this dream. ;D

Anybody have strange dreams that happen to you? -howard-

I'm sorry to hear that that dream was drawn to an abrupt end. That's what the human mind does to you though, Howard. The whole idea of dreams is that one has a dream at the beginning of the night, and at the end of the night, the psychology behind it being that most people who are dreaming semi-consciously at the time are then ready to wake up and kick their alarm clocks down the stairs.

Weird dreams? I don't think mine are weird, because I can always rationalize them with stuff that's going on around me, and that's how I feel about most psychological stuff, that so long as the happenings are rationalizable, there's nothing wrong going on. A lot of the weird dreams I have are the flashing semi-outage neon lights in the weird yellows and greens. Never reds, my life isn't going through a red right now... anyway... I have to continue dreaming through the yellows, because I know there's gonna be something there.

Again, that's because of the more powerful ability of visualization during the early and late hours of the night/morning. When dreaming them early in sleep, you've got no threat of being woken up, and the only threat then comes from a featherless pillow.

I have a minor case of insomnia but its a weird kind but when i can go to sleep i dont really sleep i never make it into a deep sleep and therefore i never can have a dream

But when i was younger i used to have one recurring dream and it was like this:

I was walking through an empty black space yet, i was not moving and i was completely aware of it, then suddenly i was surrounded by like a thousand swinging wrecking balls and i would run and not move and when i stood still they got closer it seemed, i would scream and i knew that i was screaming but i couldnt hear it. My mom would sometimes take almost an hour just to wake me up, Cuz the dream was such a reality to me that when she tried to wake me up it made it even worse, and the wrecking balls would get faster and faster and faster until finally i managed to wake up

but i'm not a pscycho i was just cursed with horrible night mares

Oh, that's not uncommon for insomniacs. Everything gets faster and faster, smaller and smaller, until there's nothing left to eat through. Then it starts back at the beginning. Like the sheep theory. Which never works.

It's funny. Just right now I was wondering how come people, including me and you, would have slept with our mouths open in the first place. I guess it's the baby theory. Someone has to breathe sometime, even though there is a 0.30 slowing down rate...

Recently I've been having odd dreams.  They always feature a particular person who is trying to tell me something really, really important, but the message is so full of metaphors and obscure references that I'm not sure what he is trying to say.

The fact that this person is deceaced just wigs me out all the more.

These dreams usually come between 2 and 3am, and I wake up terrified, or sad and crying, depending on how the dream ended.  I can never get back to sleep after one of them.

I'm looking around for someone experienced in dream interpretation (or a psychic) who can help me figure out what is going on here. :-/

Tell me about it. It's all explicable through simple psychological/psychosomatical changes in human development, which are, in turn, explicable throughout different ages... and so on... I could explain it further, but I'm sure you want me to shut up.

Tee-hee. Okey. In terms which don't confine themselves to self-taught basic psychology, it's the tunnel theory. Anything with tunnels is bound to be bad, or stop at a dead end. Any...way (shuts up)

Here follows a list of my favourite songs whose lyrics deal with dreaming.

# Whenever I want you
All I have to do is dream
Dream dream dream
When I want you in my arms
And I want you and all your charms... #

# Dreaming, I'm always dreaming
Hoping someday I'll find
Someone, someone who loves me
Someone who needs me
But until then
I'll keep on dreaming
I'm always dreaming
Hoping that my dreamings come true #

# Stars shining bright above you
Night breezes seem to whisper I love you
Birds singing in the sycamore tree
Dream a little dream of me #

9 out of 10 of my dreams are nightmares, and have been since I was about 7 years old.  Last night's was interesting.  I was staying at a hotel that had just received a truckload of frozen cow carcasses.  But being shipped inside of four of the carcasses were human bodies (a man, his wife and his two young daughters).  The man who had received the frozen cows pulled one down and started hacking into with an axe until he got to the very dead and frozen body of a man.  When he got him free of the cow's body, he stood the body up in a corner and tried to make it look like the man was still alive, just resting).  The man had just started to hack at the carcass that held the body of one of the little girls when I started to walk into the area where this was happening.  The man chased me off but not before I had noticed a hand sticking out of the cow.  Then the man noticed his corpse was gone and blamed me for it.  It was later and I was walking near a pool enclosed with a chain link fence when I noticed three men walking towards me and decided I didn't want to walk past them, so I slipped through a narrow opening between the fence and the gate.  They did the same thing, so I started to run towards the hotel.  I got to this little outdoor cafe and stopped at a table to ask for help, but the woman at the table was me and I woke up then wondering who I was supposed to be.

A tad late, but yeah. Incidentally, last night, I slept with my mouth closed, and my mind open. That is, to the converging torrents hung upon each nightmarish scenario.

I love planes, but every now and then I dream of airplanes crashing, always big jetliners. I hope I am not offending anybody's sensibility, but it's really odd, since I love flying & planes and would have loved to become an airline pilot. Sometimes they fade quickly, sometimes details linger on my mind for a long time. Once I remember that in my dream a plane hit a car on a busy intersection, at the red light, and the car flew in the air and landed several miles away (out of our sight, but somehow I knew it was intact...) one of the bystanders turned to another and said "-wow! that was your car, is that ok with you??" then I woke up. It was kinda funny y'know, and I had this dream like 6 years ago. I have this dreams all the time, but the last time I had one was like 3 weeks before that awful morning a little over a year ago. I haven't had one since. Really weird stuff, I remember a buddy of mine all freaked out telling me, "-if you wouldn't have told me about your crazy dreams weeks ago, I don't think I would have believed you..." Like I said, crazy stuff, but they are never gory or anything, just so real they are unreal. I've had at least 10 in the last 12 yrs. Am I boring you all? I'll give it a shot. You've got to search for the voices in your head. The conflicting voices. The nos, the yeses, the whats, the hows, and the whys behind everything anyone says. I think that you look at things in a very rounded view, you don't miss out the individual particulars. Yet, when the voices become louder, softer, go in and out of your brain like the nagging voice that's continually telling you to think, and to meticulously view everything from each side... now this is where the death comes in, because (not to your detriment, rather to the detriment of those that misunderstand) you seem to have, for want of a better phrase, a circumspectly calculating view of more than what is possible, you wish to understand why the voices are nagging at your every call. The fact that this happens during the 90% deep sleep period of middle-of-the-night dormancy, means much more to the nagging consciousness in the depths of the soul, than to the crying voices in your mind that you hear when plagued with the subject of death and change.

Naturally, you've no need to worry, just believe that you're not yet heading off the beaten trail.

Exeunt

Sorry, Bobo, but I didn't get any of that. ???

I'll give you a simplified version of the first dream.  I think I've figured out what it means, but I welcome everyone else's ideas.

I'm standing in a construction site.  A home is being built, and at this point it is only the brick foundation and a wooden frame work.  One side of the foundation is not yet finished.  I look over, and this person, whom I know in real life died some time ago, calls me over to teach me how to make the "magic bricks".  Without the magic, the house will not stand.  He only has time to show me once, before he dies again in the dream.  I'm not confident that I know how to do the "magic".

(The cause of this person's death in the dream is very, very different than the cause of death in the real world.)

I take the batch of "magic" bricks over to the section of the unfinished foundation, but before I can place the first one a horrible old hag jumps out from around the corner, yelling and screaming at me.  She does not want the house to be finished, or at least not with the "magic" bricks.  She wants the house to fall, and she wants me gone.

Ok, amateur interpreters.  What do you think?  ;)
