Subject: Sequels we would love/hate to see...

Written By: shazzaah on 12/12/02 at 09:27 p.m.

Ok, I think the subject line is obvious what this thread is about.Just add on to the plot, or start a sequel of your own! Here we go:

Sequel to "Sixteen Candles"
Entitled "35 Candles" aka " Put That Out Before The Curtains Catch on Fire!"

It is 2002, and all grown up Samantha Baker is now married to Jake Ryan. Unfortunately they are going through a bitter divorce because Jake is entering a cult. Sammy hates this and basically complains through the whole movie about the cult Jake is joining,,because he had to shave his head and give away all of his money to the poor. She moves in with her sister (currently on her fifth husband), and Sammy's divorce lawyer is the geek we all love, Farmer Ted.....who suggests that Sammy takes her complaints to the Springer show and invite Jake to join her....

DEFINITELY Spaceballs II: The Search For More Money

As described in Spaceballs, the original...but never made

That and History of the World Part II :)

Anyway...Spaceballs II:  Dark Helmet, the President and the General repair what's left of Mega-Maid's head and launch Spaceball 2, a smaller but sleeker craft, in search of the newly married Lone Star...John Goodman replaces John Candy as Barf.

At the end of History of the World Part I, they had previews to Part II but (alas) it was never made. BTW, have you ever noticed that the song they sing "Jews out in Space" sounds an awful lot like the song "Men in Tights?"

I have written many scripts in which John Goodman plays Barf. That is the best idea I have heard in years. But I think they should do prequels (a la "Star Wars").

MY OTHER SEQUEL IDEAS

Halloween III 2: A sequel to the "third" Halloween movie.

Ghostbusters 3: The GBs take on the evilest of all evil....The Devil, when he rises to power in NYC.

Pink Floyd: Dark Side of the Moon: Obviously a sequel/prequel to "The Wall" movie. Starring Bob Geldof and Dan Aykroyd.

Small Soldiers 2: Back in Black: The soldier action figures are taken off the shelves and trashed. They return from the ends of the earth to avenge the deaths of many of the others of their kind. Starring Tom Arnold as Phil Hartman's character.

Black Cauldron II: A Gothic, epic sequel to the 1985 PG-rated Disney animated classic. Starring that kid from the Sixth Sense as Taran, Sir Ian McKellon as Taran's wizard Grandfather, John Hurt as the Horned King, Britney Spears as Eilonwy, Sir Anthony Hopkins as the narrator, and Paul McCartney as Gurgi.

I loved how the nerds actually got some lovin' in the movies :)  I think Nerds IV was in 1994 but I'm not sure...it was a made-for-TV movie.

I want to see Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles IV...maybe they'll make it less campy.  The original was awesome and then they just sucked BAD.

I think they'd do it without Fox, because the original trilogy had a big "The End" to it...but they could do it with Doc Brown and his family in the big choo-choo train time machine.

Although "The End" has never stopped the Karate Kid before ;)

OK, here's one.  Daniel Stern and Joe Pesci attempt to rob a bank in Tulsa.  But there's one little hitch.  Macaulay Culkin works at this bank as a lending officer, and the burglar alarm was of his own design.  The movie is called:

During the chaos of getting the little one out of bed, dressed and off to shcool this morning, there was an announcement on the radio that there IS going to be a Deuce Bigelow II.

They said it was to begin filming on (***).  I didn't hear anything after that, because my daughter began screeching (she got the brush tangled in her hair), and the cat tried to trip me (I wasn't getting him his breakfast fast enough).

Has anyone else heard this, who can give me more info?  When/where shooting begins, who else besided Rob Shneider will be starring, ect.  Or do you know of a website I can go to for more info?

I swear I heard this....

They're "milking" again.  >:(

They are taking films that worked the first time around and attempting to use the same formula to sell box office tickets.

It's very rare a sequel is a worthy one, as good or nearly as good as the first one. Even rarer is having a sequel be better than the first.

Take "Men In Black II", for example:

In my opinion, It sucked. :-X  It was a darn shame to see an initially excellent movie trampled-on in that manner.  :-/ The worst element, out of many, was Lara Flynn Boyle. Words cannot describe how much of an awful actress she is, not to mention bony and drawn-looking. I give that sequel a huge thumbs down.  :P

Sorry for the rant, folks.  ;D

The name of the gang would be the "Meow-Meows", and then there would be the scene where the pusher cat takes the little bag of catnip off the back of the toilet lid and carries the bag in his mouth to where Rosa the cat is.
I know, guys. "How the BLEEP did he think of that?" ???

Mary Hart: E.T., what will you do with all your wealth?"
E.T.: Phone Home?

Other sequels:
"Breaking Away 2: Dave Enters The Big 500."
"Mission Impossible 3: Giving Cruise $100 Million For A Sequel"
"Gangs Of Los Angeles: The Westerns" with Leonardo DiCaprio and Jay-Z.
"Room 222 Massacre"

But seriously, I would love them to do a "Lost Boys" sequel featuring a werewolf street gang. It's too bad that both Coreys are middle-aged, and Dianne Wiest is too "established" for another horror film.

I think that we really need a sequel to "Field of Dreams". You will remember the dying moments when Terrence Mann goes with the baseball-playing spirits into the wheat fields. I think that Terrence Mann should return and try to tell the world of his experiences in the wheat field, only to have no-one believe him. Despondant, he convinces "Shoeless" Joe and the rest of the team to return to the mortal world to take on a team of today's players. However, there's no money in it for the pros, so the only team they can get to play them are the original Rockford Peaches, all of whom are now over 80.

In the end, Kevin Costner runs off with Geena Davis and sells the wheat field to Forrest Gump. With no wheat field to go back to, "Shoeless" Joe and the boys turn their caps backward and make a living performing rap tunes.

Or how about a sequel to Casablanca, where Louis Renault remembers that Charles De Gaulle was Free French, not Vichy French and that letters of transit signed by De Gaulle would not have even been valid in Morocco, let alone irrevocable!

Considering that the old cast are all dead, I suggest the following:

Louis Renault (Claude Raines): Homer Simpson
Rick Blaine (Humphrey Bogart): Seymour Skinner
Ilsa Lunt (Ingrid Bergman): Marge Simpson
Victor Laszlo (Paul Henried): Ned Flanders
Major Strasser (Conrad Veidt): Monty Burns
Sam (Dooley Wilson): Barney Gumble
Karl (S.Z. Sakall): Groundskeeper Willie
Ferrari (Sidney Greenstreet): Chief Wiggum
Ugarte (Peter Lorre): Mayor Quimby

Could be a laugh

If we're going to do Sylvester Stallone movies, how about another Rambo?

Rambo: Operation Geriatric!

Rambo must now defend his nursing home in the 'burbs from being overtaken by evil Vietnamese landlords...armed with only his walker and some feeding tubes, Rambo will hobble in to save the day once more!

Or---Over the Top 2

His son having gone off to college, Sly must defend his arm-wrestling title to appear on national television and show his boy that he still has the right stuff to be a good father.

;D

Paul Verhoeven likes to be campy in his movies Hairspray. He wants you to laugh as much as you enjoy the action.Robocop is another one of his movies.Robocop was so funny in the first one.

In my opinion, the acting was terrible in that movie, way below standard.

Starship Troopers was definitely the B-Movie of the 1990's.  :)

Any others you recommend? You can turn them into sequels for the sake of staying on topic! I always did get a kick out of B-Movies on drink and party nights.  ;)  ;D

How about yet another Star Trek film (though to be honest, it's been running out of steam a bit)?

Star Trek XI: The One Whose Name Nobody Can Remember

Basically Shinzon comes back to life and I get up to all sorts of adventures with him in the Holodeck.

From the creator of "The Cats and the Switchblade" comes...

"Mommie Dearest meets Superfly"

They both have a "right-on" good time "sockin' it to the man" with coat hangers and Bon Ami cans.

Just talkin' 'bout Joan, can ya dig it?

Should I say this ..... Should i really say this? .....

At least it would go along with the "female dog" motif.

OK, there, I said it. (Dodges tomatoes)

Not a movie sequel, but an idea for a TV show. How about .....

"Inside the Wrestler's Studio"

I can see it now. Near the end of the Dusty Rhodes episode, James Lipton makes the announcement, "There is a 'friend' of yours who has been in the studio audience for the entire program." Of course, this being a show about wrestling and all, he uses the word "friend" sarcastically, because he turns out to be ... Tully Blanchard. Then of course he & Dusty start fussing at each other, and the talk elevates more & more, and they start fighting. While Dusty, Tully, and Baby Doll are all jumping across the table back & forth whooping each other's butt, Lipton comments "Gee ..... how ... quaint."
Also, just like its real-life counterpart, the show starts out interviewing legendary wrestlers like Ric Flair, Terry Funk, Hulk Hogan, etc., but then they run out of legendary wrestlers and are stuck with guys like Billy Gunn, Tex Slazinger, 911, etc.

If they ever make a sequel to "Shawshank Redemption", I truly think that I would have to crawl in a hole and not come out.  However, it would have a cool name... "Shawshank Re-Redemption..."
