Subject: Please don't drink and drive

Written By: Alicia. on 12/18/02 at 10:52 p.m.

Please read
I was going to post this on his anneversiry but I will be busy for the rest of the week and next.On my post awhile back about my "friends" came up and I said I had NO friends when I was younger...well I did have ONE and he was killed by a drunk driver. He was my best friend at the time. He made me laugh when I was down....I remember him doing froggy noises and my nickname for him was froggy. Then on December 23 I heard the news from my sister, apparently he was driving with his fiance ( he was the passenger) and a drunk driver hit them. She lived but he died.I would hope the drunk driver would have died to or go to prison but he didn't. He got paralyzed from what I was told, and now I'm glad He is not dead because I know for a fact that being dead isn't as half as bad for having to live with the guilt knowing you had taken someones life because you were stupid and made a very wrong descision. I am begging you please don't drink and drive. You may think"oh  but this can never happen to me" but it can, it only takes one second and lives can be changed for ever so once again please don't drink and drive. and I want my friend scott to know that where ever he is that I love you and I miss you soooo much and I wish you were here right now to cheer me up  :'(

I never drink and drive (well, I don't drive anyway) and I warn others not to.  I will never intentionally get into a car driven by someone who's had one too many.

I used to have a few drinks and drive home, but I spent a year and a half living in the UK and didn't drive at all and got around by bus, train, and taxi.  Now that I'm back in the US, I wouldn't even dream of getting behind the wheel after having a few. I realized during that time what a couple of drinks does to you and can't believe I used to drive feeling like that. I have made a promise to never do so again.
