Cell phones going off in meetings and classrooms. People driving and talking on their cell phones. People at the mall bumping into you while they're talking on the cell phones. You know what? Cell phones and the people who use them are the most annoying things so far. Second would be stupid people who insist on their righteousness - and they probably own cell phones!

Amen back at you. Does anyone remember when we couldn't unplug the phone? You had to take the receiver off the hook and listen to it beep a busy signal for about five minutes...

It was awful, Earl. Imagine: the phones rings, no caller id, no machine to take the call, no message forwarding. It would ring and ring and ring unless you answered it. It was like stepping off a cliff every time you picked it up. You had to be brave to own a phone back then. And you had to have strong fingers, because to make a call you had to push this heavy dial at least seven times... dark ages, indeed.

I also remember when there were only four channels on TV to choose from (NBC, CBS, ABC, and PBS). And in order to change the channel you had to get up from your chair, walk across the room and turn a knob. Truly barbaric!!
Which leads me to my "most annoying thing". Cable TV companies that force you to take 25 or 30 channels you don't want, in order to get the one channel you do want. Because it's some sort of a package. Their way, I end up paying 38 cents per channel. I'd willingly pay $1 per channel if I could choose what to get, and what not to get. I really don't need fourteen channels of religious programming. Nor 12 home shopping channels.

My best friend..
Before I left for the UK we were inseperable, nothing came between us girls..even if we had boyfriends, we never put them above our friendship or our regular routines. I thought my friend was an independent woman like me.
I was in Scotland for about a year and a half and during that time, we kept in regular contact and still considered each other to be best friends.
Now that I'm back I've discovered my friend has turned into a pathetic person who's allowing herself to be taken advantage of by losers and is shunning me.
Basically, she's a nice person , too nice. She's got a good job, a new house, everything going for her..but a high self esteem. There is this guy that I know is blatantly using her for just about anything he can use her for..such as a place to crash when he's drunk, store his junk, eat, wash his clothes, shower and anything else he can get(he's also 10 years younger than her) . He is disgusting, rude and disrepectful to her and me when I visit. Last week we had all met for a drink. It was my friend, my mother and her boyfriend and my aunt (who's about my age) and me. this jackass shows up and starts saying lewd comments about my aunt and pestering me, trying to cop feels on me and my family and my friend goes into a huff over it. My aunt,mother and I reduced this dork to silence because we insulted him so bad and told him what a loser he was. He had no right to put his hands on us in the first place. My aunt was ready to poke him in the windpipe with her finger.
She waits around at night with the hopes that this loser will show up for a few hours every day and she won't even leave the house to meet up with me. Nearly every year, I go to a christmas convert that she's in, put on by our high school alumni band and she insinuated she didn't want me to go this year because she thought he may show up. Turns out he didn't, just showed up at her house drunk hours after. It hurts me that I've been gone this long and have been replaced by a user and a loser.I'm truly her friend and would never dream of using her for anything. I'd love to shake some sense into her but she won't listen. I don't want to strain our friendship but while she's under the spell of this guy I can't do anything..and her turning her back on all of us that care is really annoying
me. (i'm not the only one to have a talk with her about him)

it's a pain innit.....I work in a call centre and have tons of the arrogant tw*ts calling daily. On my last day (hopefully sooner than later) I'm going to some fun with them :)

Hey BPChick, sorry to hear about this situation. Trouble is it's more common that is should be. As the brother of two older sisters and raised by a single mom I can tell you that only thing you can do is wait it out and welcome them back when they finally wise up. I learned young that it does no good to hate the relationship or try to intervene, that just drives the person you care for further away. Give it time and let her know that you will be there when she's ready.

Soccer doesn't annoy me. I'm a fan of the biggest club in the league for the last ten years. When, as a fan of this said club, the sport is crammed down your throat AT ALL TIMES - don't get me wrong, there's nothing better on a Saturday afternoon than hearing your team has won again - it gets a bit repetitive.

I can be a real grouch on the phone, but not when I'm making the call. If I'm getting a call when I'm busy at work I can be a little... to the point... my only excuse is that answering the phone is a secondary function of my job, and I'm under daily pressure to get tasks done in a timely fashion

Tut, tut, spread 'em. People who habitually "spread the bread" develop a false confidence in the bond and they become careless. I would conservatively estimate that all the dropped sandwiches in the world are dropped by bread spreaders, lulled into a complacent and fatal faith in the bond.

Feliticera... it's a Teee not an Ell.. and there is an eye missing... I know it's a hard word to remember, but you've been biting your lip so much you can't pronounce.
Although I must also add another annoying thing is when you cut or bite your fingernails and you get that bit hanging off, so you yank as hard as you can... AND YOU TAKE HALF OF THE SKIN AROUND YOUR NAIL OFF... OWWWWWW ! :'(

i have a really bad stuttering problem myself, and its very annoying to me because its harder to say what i want to say. i mean i be stuck on a syllable for like 10 or 15 seconds, if someone doesnt help me out or if i dont snap out of it, so yeah its very annoying on both sides.

true story...I was shopping at Wal-Mart and the people in front of me tried to write a check. It was declined, so they tried 3 different credit cards, all declined. Then, they start digging for loose change in the woman's purse, they were only about $1 short. THEN they start arguing about whether they were going to put back HIS oreos or HER Hershey's kisses (which neither of them needed) Finally (after about 5 minutes) they decided to put both of them back. I started looking in MY purse to see if I had any money to just give them so I could get my milk and go! Alas, no money...

The closest grocery store to me is an Albertsons and it's a haven for poorer older people and welfare recipients. I'm not against old people and I like to think the people using the govm't assisatance are doing there best to get back on their feet but when I'm trying to get through the check out counter they are always SLOW!!! >:(
The old ones are always digging in some big purse for some pocketbook with their shaking hands and extracting out exact change...and the welfare cases have to have their coupons checked and have to ring up their items elligible to use with stamps seperately from their cigarettes and beer.

I have to agree with you both, he is like "fingernails on a chalk board, styrofoam rubbing together" He realy ruined the "up all night" movies. The only time I liked his appearance was when he appeard on "Married with children". They were in a life raft and Al Bundy bent these round metal props over his head.

I have to say one of the more annoying things has been happening to me today cause people have been calling my dorm about 10 or more times today asking for the same person he doesnt even live in this room the school screwed up and listed this guys number as mine when it isnt.
