Subject: GM, Ford, Chrysler, Toyota, or Other?

Written By: The_Ghetto_John on 01/03/03 at 01:10 p.m.

we live in a country...no a world thats full of car companies, and going by the arguments in my other v.s. topics i thought i would ask what your favorite motor company is.

I like GM, particularly BUICK ;D, I love The Regal GS, it has a whole lot of sporty features mixed with Buick Luxury, its got a 3.1 liter Turbo Charged V6 and pushes 240 hp, sounds like a winner to me, so what about you guys

I'm a GM man myself.  I always thought Ford meant "fix or repair daily."  It used to mean "f*** ol' Roger Dean," Roger Dean being the name of a Chevrolet dealer in Charleston, WV.

My Favorite cars right now are the Subaru WRX, and the Mazda Protege 5. Just wish I could afford one of them.

Since childhood, I've always been enamored of VW Bugs.

Then they stopped making them.

Now they make them again, but they messed them up.  The engine belongs in the back!!!  I wish they would go back to making them that way.

But I sure like all the cool new colors. :D

For a pick-up it's got to be Dodge, I have a Dakota and I'm happy with it.

For luxo sedan, if I could I would get the Audi A-6 - sexy ;)
Commuter- Can't go wrong with a Honda, I've owned a Civic for awhile and it's great, I test drove one of the hybrid and if I have to get another I'd get that, very impressive.  I do like that Protege 5 though too and appreciate Suburu.

I owned a 1979 Honda Accord new until 1989...never had any problems with it...the only reason I lost it was due to a wreck.  Now I have a 1992 Honda Civic that has over 200,000 miles on it and it's still going strong....just change the oil as often as every 3,000 miles and any car (Except ford) should be just fine.  If I had to choose any, I'd rank Chevy as no.1 (How could anyone not like a Corvette!), followed by a huge tie with GM, & Honda.  I did have a ford escort once but my 1987 Yugo that I got in 1999 still runs..while the ford blew up after just 3 days :P (Sorry dagwood) but whenever I visit a junkyard there are always more fords sitting around than any other brand of vehicle :-/

I guess I am the only person on this board that likes Fords.  I have never had any problems with mine.  I take good care of it, check and change the oil and all that stuff.  It never overheats or burns oil.  After 115,000 miles everytime I go for an oil change it is only 1/4 quart low.  It is a great little pick up and nothing anyone says chan change my mind...so there.

I have been fortunate to have no major problems with my GMC truck (bought it new in '96 and now has 73K miles on it).  I had a '98 Chevy Blazer I bought used and it was a POS.
Got rid of it (Carmax bought it) and bought a 2002 Accord EX 5-speed fully loaded for Mrs. M...she loves it!  She had a '90 Civic hatchback when I met her, and hardly ever had a problem.  We'll probably continue to buy Hondas for her.  My next ride is going to be a Toyota 4Runner - as far as SUVs go it's rated one of the safest...plus it has that cool roll-down back window...the dogs will like that.

Citroen! The ones with the oil suspension. Austin Healeys, Fiats, Alfa Romeos (that's Marcello's car brand), Peugeot (that's Peter's car brand)... Anything, but that stinkin', odious, Holocaust-denyin' BMW!

No you're not Dag!! Although I've got a Subaru Outback now, when it comes to American made autos, I'd rather push a Ford than drive a Chevy! :P
