Subject: What happened to him?

Written By: Steve_H on 01/11/03 at 04:45 p.m.

Who had the biggest meltdown in a career?  Elvis? Michael Jackson?  Who do you think coulda had everything and blew it the most?  The British Empire, maybe?  Richard Nixon?  Cher?

My two-cents goes on Elvis.  Like most things in pop-music, he blazed the trail to the embarassing end.  http://www.click-smilie.de/sammlung/cool/cool030.gif

I think you're right on about Elvis.  As for Jackson...I think he's always been over-rated anyway.

Whitney Houston is up there.  Mariah's on her way.

Axl Rose has had a good time p*ssing away any respect anyone had for him.

Jim Morrison also qualifies in this category.

And How!!  That's the truest thing I've read tonight.  lol

I think Michael Jackson has always been a bit of a joke, especially since he started with the plastic surgery and such.  Now that he has kids, though, I think he's lost what's left of his mind, not to mention his own original nose.   I would be worried about the effect this weirdo will have on those kids, if I were his family.  Oh, wait!!  9 outta 10 of them are insane, too.    ::)

I'll go with Michael Jackson 1st, there is still way to many people that take Elvis way to seriously.
I won't say Jim Morrison cause he and the Doors, as a band, were doing well until the end, he just died young.
He's not a musicain but how about Pee Wee Herma/ Paul Rubens?  His career went straight to hell.

Now I think Britney is going down in flames, just wait and see...

(now my almost 10 yr old daughter might beg to differ...  oh well...)

But I think Jacko has no rival in that area, he is such a pathetic...   whatever he is now, I feel sorry for him. One of the most bizarre creatures we'll ever know.

Although, I must give a nod to O.J.

No more "Airplane" movies for him! Or was it "Police Squad"...

Once again not a music star, although I'm sure it's on his list of things to do....

Diego Maradona.  Perfect example of someone who had it all, plus more, and yet that wasn't enough, yet had he looked after himself, he could still probably be playing at/near the top level.

Diego, take a look at Pele to see what you could have been.  You had the talent.  What a waste.... >:(

Michael Jackson's nose certainly had a bit of a "meltdown"... ::)

I think it's got to be either the Spice Girls or Hear'Say; Satan's own, dear, manufactured minions.

Don't talk about South American football, please- I remember when we were beaten by Brazil in the World Cup. Terrible.

However the Argentina match was good, wasn't it? LMAO it was hilarious, we slaughtered them right, left and centre!!

I don't know which one you mean, but I guess both the rock star and the wrestler fit in this category.

Hmmm, hadn't thought of him til now. Yeah, that was a bad one. The legal system had him in their maw, found him indigestible, and spit him back out.

The OJ Trial was the perfect opportunity to understand and reform some of our deepest and most destructive ills: race relations, domestic violence, the inequity of the legal system.

The only lesson we've seemed to have learned is reflected every time society collectively groans, Pavlov-like, whenever it's announced Johnnie Cochran is going to defend a notorious criminal.

Morrissey (lead singer of the Smiths) could also be added as his ego has grown bigger after being out of the band... he should be lashed or something...

His ego has always been big. He has some strange ways and ideas. But they do say ever genius is crazy, and in my book Morrissey is a genuis. His lyrics speak to me more than anybody elses. That's why I'm such a fan of The Smiths, and some of his solo effort.
