I dont want to wear out my welcome and all, but would one of you mind explaining to me the penguins?

There are a gazillion posts about this, but here we go:
So the first star means you have 0-50 posts
star 2 means 51-100
star 3 means 101-250
star 4 means 251-500
star 5 means 501+ posts
The different penguins are just the theme of this board :) I personally think it's cute...plus I like the Pittsburgh Penguins.

On the subject of penguins. I got a Slavonic periodical in work today ( for those not in the know I work in a university library.) and it had a picture of penguins on it but they were upside down..................what does that mean ???
