Subject: A reminder

Written By: CatwomanofV on 02/10/03 at 08:14 a.m.

Even though the holidays are over, there are still many people who are hungry. This is just a reminder to remember to donate to your local food shelf (even if it is just a can or two-every little bit helps). Also, one way to help (and it is painless) is to visit the following website everyday.

Please bookmark this site and visit the other sites also listed. Like I said, it is painless and doesn't take much time. Thanks

Funny you should mention this...I just dropped off a bunch of food at the local food pantry this morning :)

It is so sad that some have it so hard. Food may keep them alive, but I wonder if they like thier life enough to care? What can be done to help those who have bottomed out? It would be nice to see them in a happy job.

BTW, I donate clothing too. Winter can be rough when you do not have a home.

The orginazation that I volunteer for, not only do we run the local food shelf, we also have an annual clothing drive, we hold food distibutions, operate a summer nutrition program for kids, have different senior programs. We hand out holiday baskets at Christmas time as well as provide gifts for kids. We also help with utilities, transportation, and other things. It is really amazing how much we actually do. Right now, we are planning for a food distribution in May.
