Mainly, what's on the ground here is sleet, as it sleeted all day on Sunday, and I have about 3 inches of the stuff.  Today's high in Charleston, WV (about 100 miles northeast of Pikeville, KY) is expected to be in the 40's…

Take it all, please.  20 inches on top of the foot+ that was already on the ground is way too much.  Been a really tough winter here.

We've had one rotten measly inch fall all this winter.  At least it fell at the weekend so we could go sledging.  (when you're four, like my daughter, an inch is deep enough).

Not sure I'd like 20 inches or more though.  Just a little bit more.

Nary a flake has fallen but it's certainly brass monkey weather here !?! (ie: cold enough to freeze the balls off a brass monkey etc.) ITS FREEZING.......frost looks pretty with the sunshine on it though.

Well, here in ChiTown, we have gotten around 1 foot all winter.  That's just unheard of.  I am one of those strange people who actually like snow.  It makes the bitter cold temps a bit easier to stomach.  If it's freezing outside, with no snow, you can't stand it, but if there's snow, at least you can play in it!  Plus the fact that my kids have cabin fever, but they don't even want to go outside to play because it's too cold to do anything.

about two feet outside.  the drifts, on the other hand...

we had to dig out a path for my dachshund; the poor dog's less than a foot tall!

Last night we finally got some snow here!  But, like rainfall...more fell to the east of town...2 inches here in the foothills and 13 inches just 10 miles east :-/

We got about a foot. That was on top of what was sitting on the ground (about 2 feet). Today (believe it or not) my thermomitor says 40. Everything is MELTING!

I'm with you Dagwood.  The farmers in our area are trying to figure out how they are going to have enough water to grow anything this year and on the East coast they are literally buried in snow.  We should would appreciate if you guys could ship some of the wet stuff our way. :)

Dude, I'm with y'all that have none.  I think we've gotten like maybe 1/2 an inch this whole winter...and nothing ever sticks
But I'm kinda glad, I hate having to trudge through the snow.  All I have to do now is just bear this windy weather of the plains    :-/

Here in Boston, we got 27 inches of snow the day before yesterday (on top of about six inches still left from last week).  Which is unusual for us, being so close to the coast.  Usually the warm air over the ocean turns it to rain.

But today it warmed up to almost 40 degrees, starting a melt, and the end result was me, sinking up to my chest in a snowbank as I tried to climb over it to cross the street.  :-

Heehee  ;D
We're in a slush puddle-jumping stage.  Maybe 6-7" or snow cover, highs lately in the upper 30s.  Frozen ice and packed snow cover most of the sewer drains.  So there's a slush puddle at most corners, and dry socks are rare indeed...

today was 50 degrees in new york and still there is a whole lot of snow. But it was melting but not fast enough.I don't see this mushy slush melting for quite some time now.Even with this huge rainstorm this weekend,it still won't be able to drain.

I know what you mean.  They just keep building golf courses in our area and all the fancy houses that surround it complete with big beautiful lawns.  Haven't these people ever heard of xeriscaping??  I mean we live in the desert for goodness sake!!
We did actually have some rain the last couple of days.  It soaked us pretty good.  Definitely not enough to make a huge difference, but every little bit helps.  So thanks to whomever sent it our way. :)
