Subject: My Renegade Retro Plea to You

Written By: NewRomantic on 03/13/03 at 07:30 a.m.

As many of you may know (and some of you maybe don't know), TV9 was kind enough to allow me to start doing a show on Renegade Retro on Friday nights called Retro Hat Trick. I play three songs that have some kind of common connection and listeners try to figure out what that connecition is. Here are some examples from past shows:

1) Living in America - James Brown
2) Dr. Feelgood - Motley Crue
3) Superfreak - Rick James
Connection: Singers that have been to prison

1) California Girls - David Lee Roth
2) Glory of Love - Peter Cetera
3) Shock the Monkey - Peter Gabriel
Connection: First U.S. top 40 hit after leaving their former band

You get the idea. Well, these things are getting harder to think up and I'm here to beg and plead for your help. I'd love your submissions. If you send in a really good hat trick, you'll get credit on the show for your work. All I ask is that you keep the songs between 1979-1991 so the station's format remains relatively intact and that the songs be singles and not random album cuts. I don't care if it was a huge hit or not as long as it was an official release.

If any of you feel like thinking some up and passing them along, please send them to me here via private message or e-mail them to me at togetheralone@hotmail.com. Posting them here as part of this thread would be silly because, well, it would give everything away!  :)

Thanks in advance!

BUMP!

I figured I'd give everyone a chance to throw a few more this way before the show tonight at midnight Eastern. I really got some great ones in the last week and will definitely be using them. Bring 'em on, folks. I'd love to do a show where I didn't make up ANY of these and show everyone how sharp you are. :)
