Subject: Earthlink????

Written By: Dude on 03/19/03 at 09:30 a.m.

I'm thinking of switching ISPs from Netscope to Earthlink (dial up) (These are the only 2 providers that have local access #'s in my area). I'm not really unhappy with my Netscope provider, just looking to take advantage of a sign up deal Earthlink is offering. Are there any Earthlink users (or anyone else, for that matter) who would be willing to comment? Thanx :)

I started out with MindSpring which got bought by Earthlink.  I've never had any major problems.  Their customer support is exceptional IMO.  I'd recommend it if you're not happy with NetScope.

If I remember correctly Earthlink was rated as one of the best internet providers you can get.

Looks like you don't have much of a choice, eh Dude?

I was an Earthlink dial-up customer then switched to DSL (have since switched to SBC because of availability).  As for dial-ups, I rarely had problems and support is adequate.  It's a safe bet.

I've had Earthlink and the only real problem I had was when I tried to cancel them.  I was on hold for over 40 minutes before I could do it.

Still better than AOL I had a problem and called them one time and they had me on hold for over an hour and half before I finally hung up.  Course AOL is about as bad as you can get so I guess you can't really ask for more than that from them.

Thanks for the input guys, and yeah, Dave, living "in the sticks" is great until you need something from modern society. ::)
