Subject: Pirate Name

Written By: dagwood on 03/30/03 at 12:54 a.m.

Here is a link to your pirate name.  It even has a question about penguins.

http://www.fidius.org/quiz/pirate.php

I am:

Dirty Mary Rackham

You're the pirate everyone else wants to throw in the ocean -- not to get rid of you, you understand; just to get rid of the smell. You have the good fortune of having a good name, since Rackham (pronounced RACKem, not rack-ham) is one of the coolest sounding surnames for a pirate. Arr!

I don't get it, I promise I shower every day...it must be the penguins. ;)

I am:

Black Bess Rackham

Like anyone confronted with the harshness of robbery on the high seas, you can be pessimistic at times. You have the good fortune of having a good name, since Rackham (pronounced RACKem, not rack-ham) is one of the coolest sounding surnames for a pirate. Arr!

Hey Dagwood....looks like we're related. :D

Your pirate name is:

Iron Tom Flint

A pirate's life isn't easy; it takes a tough person. That's okay with you, though, since you are that person. Like the rock flint, you're hard and sharp. But, also like flint, you're easily chipped, and sparky. Arr!

Cool!  I love pirates!!

Your pirate name is:

Bloody Mary Kidd

Every pirate lives for something different. For some, it's the open sea. For others (the masochists), it's the food. For you, it's definitely the fighting. Even though you're not always the traditional swaggering gallant, your steadiness and planning make you a fine, reliable pirate. Arr!

This is the second time this week a quiz has told me I have violent tendencies... ::)

Is my inner Amazon showing again?  Or does it have something to do with the phases of the moon?

Every pirate is a little bit crazy. You, though, are more than just a little bit. You tend to blend into the background occaisionally, but that's okay, because it's much easier to sneak up on people and disembowel them that way. Arr!

Did you know that pirates were very democratic?  Check out Marcus  Rediker's Between the Devil and the  Deep Blue Sea, a wonderful read!  Abast ye hardies, furl the main, trim the jibs, and prepare to jibe!  All hands on deck - and I know what this jib-erish means - scary no?  MAN THE PUMPS ;D
