Subject: Top 50 Late 70's/Early 80's Disco - Date Pending

Written By: Hairspray on 04/06/03 at 07:41 p.m.

Is it even possible to get together such a list?

I don't remember too, too many Disco music fans out there.

Correct me if I'm wrong!!! :D

We are thinking-up this idea for a special Renegade Retro Show in the near future.

Opinions welcome, too.  :)

I'll list my top 50 a little later.  ;) 8)

"Disco Duck" is one of the classics.
Though I'm not much into disco, but I like "Disco Duck" by Rick Dees.  :D
(Yes, Rick Dees the Disc Jockey)
I like a couple of disco tunes like Blondie's "Heart Of Glass",The Bee Gees ("Saturday Night Fever" soundtrack), and several funk hits from The Comodores &  Rick James.

I'm too hard pressed to thinik of any beyond Disco Duck.  Like the band Everclear says "I like pop, I like soul, I like rock but I never liked Disco!"  Very few songs did I like.  I suppose ABBA makes my cut, but that's about all I know and can think of.  Maybe some Village People.

As for Pac-Man Fever, it has my vote provided it fits.  Remember the song came out in 1982, and does have a distinctly non-disco, more 80's electronica sound to it.

As far as songs.....I think we have covered most of them!  I am soooo siked for this show to finally happen!  I might have to get out my "Boogie Shoes" and my webcam & do a little dance for you all during the show!  HAHA!!  Wouldn't THAT be a sight for sore eyes!  ;D

Just pick a date.  Weekend.  Friday Night or Sunday afternoon.  I'll be fine with it.  Make it at least 1 week from now, or longer, to give me time to get the songs, and have someone come up with a list of the Top 50.

I would personally love a Sunday afternoon as I work Friday and Saturday nights...I can get up early to catch a Sunday afternoon show!

I just realized how bad that sounds...heheeee...I meant that if it's early afternoon in the East, it's still morning here in the West :)

I definitely wanna hear this show!
