Even with a glare on my monitor screen, the test shows I have a healthy, normal color vision.

I remember going to school with a boy that was color-blind.  No one ever would have known about it if he had not told us.

I am! But I never found out until I was 16 and we did a colour blindness test in biology. I always wondered why everybody said this nice white shirt I had when I was a kid was green. After that, I knew why.  :)

I have taken those tests before. I see colors just fine. "The colors, the colors." (oh, sorry. Having a 60s flashback.  ;))

8)I'm not,but my dad is.I've heard that color blind people could be useful in the military because they can detect camoflage, but in america they're so common that the US military doesn't need a lot of them.In other countries, color blind people are lesscommon.member an episode of people's Court with judge wapner where a guy is suinf to have a car repainted because it was the wrong color.Judge wapner asks why the man didn't just tell the auto shop it was the wrong color before he drove it home, and the man saidthat he's color blind and his wife decides what color the cars should be!Cheers! ;D

I'd place a good bet that not a single female member of this board is colour blind. Colour blindness is quite common in males, but extraordinarily rare in women.

i'm not colorblind!  this kid who was in my second grade was colorblind, and couldn't tell the difference between the blue and red lines on the paper we used to learn to write in cursive...he was also obsessed with penguins.  (i kid you not!)

LOL !

I had to take the Ishihara Test when I started employment with the Commonwealth Government as part of my medical check in the late 70's.

I remember it to this day as there are extra pages to that test - some of them have no numbers at all - I remember panicking becuase after having gone so well I couldn't see anything at all... :o

Was I relieved when the doc said there was nothing there to see !  :-/

Well, I'm not, but hubby is color "deficient".  Meaning, he has trouble discerning between black, dark brown, dark blues, dark greens, etc.

I had a high school project in my econ class where we had to do a business plan, layout, etc.  I did mine, totally forgetting that the teacher was color blind, with my layout color coded.  ;D

Hum, interesting.....while I made them all out...a few were hard to see without looking at them for a bit....and that last one really threw me...maybe I need to get the doc to test me again ::)

I'm not colorblind either. I am however, near-sighted in my right eye and far-sighted in my left eye. That is (apparently) even rarer than a color-blind woman!

I had a boss who was color-blind and his wife had to pin numbers on his shirts and ties to show which ones went with each other...I used to make the screen on my computer really bright blue with yellow letters so he couldn't read it!!

I'm not colour-blind but my husband is.  He found out when reading a children's encyclopedia which had an Ishihara test in it.  It said that some people couldn't see the cat or dog or whatever because they were colour-blind and he realised he couldn't see the picture properly.

It isn't a major problem though I do have to tell him which is his blue shirt and which is his purple one.  We also had fun wiring a radio into my first car.  All the wires involved were exactly the colours he muddled.  Besides, can you tell the difference between brown with an orange stripe and orange with a brown stripe?

Interesting you mentioned camoflage as we were reading an article at work that on big game hunts the guides and hunters wear bright blue camos, because the animals are colour blind they can't see the colours but the men with the guns can.So technically if you then get shot they obviousy meant to hit you !!

The number 6 took me a second or too but other than that... YAY! I'm not colourblind. Well, whoppee. Females have like a 1.7% chance of being colour blind in any case...
