Subject: Windy Marilyn Monroe Skirt Disasters

Written By: Indy Gent on 04/18/03 at 00:32 a.m.

Recently on a local weather cast, they filmed a group of Butler University co-eds having a picnic on campus. The blonde woman was wearing a pretty green dress. The weather man was talking about how windy it was, and when they showed the co-eds, the wind blew. It caused the blonde's hemline to  rise up when she tried to sit up straight, nearly exposing herself. Has anyone experience or saw an incident (e.g. The Marilyn Monroe grate scene from 'Seven Year Itch') where a dress wearing woman (or cross dresser) has fought the elements for her modesty?

Not that I can recall but I have seen the classic of someone with their skirt tucked in their knickers a few times. One poor girl was walking throught the centre of Oxford at lunchtime so my Mum ran after her and told her the girl was mortified that noone at her work had told her.

Sorry IG....this might not be what you are looking for...but after reading what Gis just wrote....and I was FINALLY able to stop laughing at the memory...I had to add this!

Back in 1985 my grandmother (moms side) had a massive heart attack and was near death.  My entire family (about 10 of us all together decided to keep to stay the night at the hosptial "just in case".  The waiting room was full up so we had to try to make the most of it out in the front waiting room by pulling two chairs up together and sleeping on them.

My mother who came straight over from work had on a pink dress suit (jacket, blouse, skirt and hose) and had fallen asleep on her side.....with her backside facing the entrance of the hospital.  My cousin and I were still awake talking when the late nite cleaning crew came thru and we could not help but notice them giggle and snicker.  FINALLY one of the older men came over to us, points to my mother and said we "might need to help her out"  OMG!!!!!! And what did my eyes see!!!  My moms WHITE BUTT sticking out for all the world to see!!!  Her skirt had ridden up to her waist....and my mother did NOT wear panties under her hose!!!!! :o :o :o :o :o

We have a street in our CBD that is considered the windiest street in the world due to the bad design of the skyscrapers.

About 10 years ago I was walking along with a friend who was wearing a little summer slip dress with spagetti straps.

This huge gust of wind came along and flipped the dressed above her head so fast that it actually came off !  She wasnt wearing a bra and had the teeniest knickers on !!

She was left crouching behind a telephone pole as I ran along the street trying to jump on the dress before the next gust of wind would carry it along further.  I was wetting myself laughing - desperately trying to catch the dress.

By the time I got back to her she had attracted quite a crowd !!!!!

We both had to go and have a stiff drink after that !!!  All she could say was "I am glad I had my prettiest knickers on" !!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, okay... but only if you promise not to laugh!

Actually, it was a pretty mundane one having to do with a TV weatherman, a bad rug and a windy day.  ;D

I did have that happen but mine deffinately pales next to BMG's but here it is. I was at a wedding in Boston. We hadn't gone into the church yet. I don't know if it was a gust of wind or from a vehicle going by but my skirt did go up just a bit-not too sure exactly how far and if I was giving anyone a show or not. That was bad enough but then my friend, who I was with said to someone else that I was busy making new friends.

This is not a contest, even though BMG's story was LOL. Don't be afraid to be 'second best.' If Hairspray locks up because of content, so be it.  ;D
BTW, I heard on Indy's own Bob and Tom Show a while ago that Kristi Lee, the news babe, had the same on-the-air incident with her skirt blowing up while interviewing for the Extreme Games on ESPN 2. ;) Even she had a chuckle with that one.

this isn't exactly wind-related, but when i was in elementary school, my friend was wearing a dress and she was going down a metal slide.  the dress started to go up and apparently the metal was really hot, so she jumped off the slide and ended up breaking her wrist. :o  i saw the whole thing happen, she'd probably hurt me if she knew i just posted this! :D

That reminds me of a incident in recess during 6th grade when the class was playing kickball on the asphalt lot. A girl was wearing a red skirt and panty hose. She was in 3rd base when a classmate kicked to the infield. When she was encouraged, she decided to slide home, and was knocked unconconscious for several minutes. As it turned out, she only had scabbed knees and her dignity bruised.

Ok another few for you ! My sister wears thongs, this comment is relevant! and we were out eating at an ice cream parlour on a hot summer day.when we finished she stood up to go and the plastic cusion on her chair had stuck to her bottom and she did realise at first  and walked through the parlour with it on her bottom and her skirt up above it the place was in hysterics !

My friend Simon was walking behind this couple and noticed the girl drop something when she pulled her hand out of her pocket. So in one movement he scooped the item up and said 'excuse me you dropped this' only to find he was holding a pair of knickers !

My Mum was walking to work one morning when this man jogged past her,he also passed a little old lady and as he passed her she tripped up and grabbed the back of his jogging pants pulling them down around his ankles as she fell and he had no underware on so there he stood with everything on show and a little old lady lying at his feet !?!

Finally my sister, her friend and her friends mum were walking down the street when the elastic went in the mother's knickers,so apparently she just stepped out of them and carried on walking............

I was at a wedding a few years ago in August.  The bride had a very simple, yet full cut, dress, with no crinoline underneath.  Needless to say, it was very windy and her dress blew up over her head.  Luckily, there were only a few people around to see it.  Also, she didn't have any panties on underneath, only a garter belt and thigh high stockings.  We were giving the groom a hard time about the "fun" he was going to have that night. ;)

This did happen to my little sis...she met me and my ex (how I LOVE saying that) at the mall last summer in one of those baby doll dresses....straps without sleeves, tight around the chest and waist, but very loose around the bottom.

She had been sitting in the pub flirting with about 3 guys all at one table...and we ended up leaving about the same time they did.  They were in a Jeep Wrangler with the top off and passed us just as a gust of wind went up her dress and up over her head the skirt part went.  Black thong, tanned legs and rear (she is about 5'6 and weighs all of about 110 pounds).  She never got to see their faces as she flashed them....but boy did she hear them as they drove passed....calling out their telephone numbers and grabbing certain parts of their bodies!!! ;D ;D ;D

I just remembered another time. I was in Jr. high doing a play called "Meet Miss Stoneage." I played the winner of the privious year. I wore a tubetop and (I was very thankful for) a fur coat. I was on stage and realized that the tubetop slipped. Like I said, I was very thankful for having that fur coat because I made sure that it was covering something that the audience wasn't suppose to see.  :-[
