Subject: I Hear the Secrets That You Keep...

Written By: southern spitfire on 05/08/03 at 10:00 p.m.

when your talking in your sleep!! ;D

I know that I have always talked in my sleep...but last night I WOKE myself up talking!!  I never did get good and awake to stop myself...so I am laying there in some half conscious state...still talking to some person in my dream, unable to stop it!!  When I finally did get awake...I had to laugh at myself for being so foolish!!

Does anyone else do that, and if so, what is the dumbest thing you have ever been caught saying??

I don't know if I do...but my daughter talks in her sleep.

She denies it.  But she does.

Sometimes she even sings in her sleep.

She just woke up now, and insisted that the show I was watching was her favorite in the entire world.

I was watching Insomniac with Dave Attell.

She then mumbled something about "elephants" and "brussels sprouts" and stomped back to bed. ;D

I was on a backpacking trip once and I kept everyone up with my distressed "oh no, I don't want to fall off the cliff...I don't want to die...no...no..." mumblings all night long.

I have very active "adventure" dreams that are in need of strong leadership. Autumn says that I'm always barking out commands.  Luckily for me she enjoys the drama and doesn't mind to much. ;D

I used to sleepwalk quite regularly when I was 12-15 years old. Believe it or not, I took a bath in my sleep and to this day don't remember it. My mother once caught me starting to "step out" the living room window. She said I told her I was "going to school" like it was the most natural thing in the world. It got so bad that the family would just talk to me as if I were awake until I decided to wake up or go back to bed. Someone had told them that it was dangerous to wake up someone when their sleepwalking. Anyone else ever heard this?

I sleptwalk (?) when I was 6 years old.  It was about 11 pm and I wanted to go to my friend's house down the street.  Good thing my parents were still up otherwise there would've been a little boy walking down the street in his jammies... :)

The last thing I remember saying in my sleep was about a month ago; it actually woke me up.  I had some strange dream that there was some big festival right outside my house and people just kept coming through my door as if I were holding an open house.  Finally I got so pissed that I yelled, "GET THE F*** OUT OF MY HOUSE!!!"  yet I yelled it out loud!  :o  Freaked myself out...

I used to mess with my younger brother when we lived together.  He would start talking about something so I started talking back to him and saying stuff to him like "watch out for that tree"... ;D

I was told that I had a full fledged argument with my mother in my sleep a couple of months ago.  My son was actually sleeping in my bed that night, which might explain where he picked up the word "b!tch"  ::)  ;D

As for sleep walking, I have never done it, but I had an ex-boyfriend that did quite a few times & it freaked me out to the point that I couldn't sleep over his house anymore.  :-/

I don't know if I talk in my sleep because I am usually asleep. lol

One time in high school, this girl who sat next to me put her head down on the desk and started crying up a storm. I tried to find out why she was crying and what upset her so much. She didn't respond to me so I just figured that she wanted to be left alone. After a few minutes, she pick up her head and said to me that she fell asleep. I told her that she was crying but she didn't remember it. That must have been one sad dream.

I know I laugh in my sleep once in a while. But, my honey, on the other hand, talks all the time. Of course, I don't help matters any because when he starts talking, I talk back to try to get him to say more. In the morning, he doesn't remember. I remember his dreams more than he does.  :D

Hmm, I didn't talk during this, but my Mom once told me that when I was about 13, I got up in the middle of the night, got some milk and a Swiss Cake Roll, sat down in the floor and turned on MTV.  She heard the tv and got up to see what I was doing...she said she asked me but I wouldnt respond.  When I was done with my 'snack', I turned off the tv and went back to bed.  The next day I remembered nothing about it, so I musta been 'sleep-snacking'!   ;D

another time at camp, my two friends had a conversation in their sleep...
caitlin: lauren.
lauren: what?
caitlin: never mind.  christine.
me: yeah?
caitlin: where's the duck banner?
me: the what?
caitlin: never mind.

I never talk in my sleep.

However, when I was a freshman in college, I unleashed a monstrous fart in the middle of the night as I lay in bed.  My roommate was like, "Holy sh*t Kin, was that you?  Are you awake??"  and started cracking up for 10 minutes while I tried to pretend to still be asleep and keep from cracking up myself.

He never did find out if I was awake or not ;)

I have walked in my sleep once when I was really tired.  I also talk when I am really tired.  There have been times that I have woken myself up snoring.  That is scary.

I don't talk in my sleep, but I have the most stupid dreams....I had one the other day in which I was an FBI Agent....yet I has to borrow my friends car to get around...and she drives a Barney-purple Baretta.  It also involved property boundries and Danny Devito....don't ask. I ain't right in the head, I guess. ::)

Danny Devito? That is just sooooo wrong! :P

My other said a few nights ago I was tossing around a bit so he reached over to touch me and I jerked away from him so he asked me "What's wrong?" and I just said "I'm naked" and started to laugh hysterically.

I have woken myself up after shouting in my sleep.  The most recent time was when I dreamt I was being held hostage and the kidnapper was cutting my fingers off one by one with blunt kindy scissors.

And a few months ago I dreamt that teen gangs were rioting outside my house and throwing firebombs at my windows.  I crept thru the house to a window to see what they were doing.  I woke up to find my security alarm was blaring away waking the entire street.  All we can think of is that I slept-walked thru the house and set it off and went back to bed before waking to all the noise.  My neighbours said it had been going for about 4 minutes at that stage.

Ummm....my hubby didn't say that I necessarily "speak" while I'm asleep.  Apparently, I make noises that could be construed as coming from someone in the throes of passion as it were.  :o
Dang!!  Wish I could remember those dreams.  :)

When my family would go camping, and only then, my sister would start screaming at the top of her lungs in her sleep. We called it her cry to the gods. ;D

I rarely remember my dreams, but Cat tells me that I do talk in my sleep.  I do remember talking about a "north reaching mission" - whatever that was - polar bears?  I have no idea.  Its probably for the best.  Now I DO remember south-reaching mission dreams - I'll leave that to your active imaginations  ;)  ;)
